“Why didn’t your boss use her pussy then?” I frown, “She has one right? Or was yours just not good enough for the Alpha, Miss Audrey?”

Miss Audrey moves fast. One second, she is on the countertop, and the next she’s slapping the shit out of me. “ You little shit.” She gasps, shaking off her hand.

Tina grabs me by the hair, “Who do you think you are talking that way to a Gamma’s daughter?”

The sting from her tugging on my hair and Miss Audrey’s slap ringing in my ears is enough to bring me back to my senses. “Let me go,” I tell Tina, eyes shifting to Miss Audrey. “I apologise,” I say, realising I went too far, but they started it. I insulted a Gamma’s daughter, but they insulted a Luna-a true Luna who happens to be Gamma’s daughter too.

Miss Audrey kicks at my feet, and Tina knees me in the back, sending me knees-first to the floor. “Apologise?” She stares down at me, evil dancing in her eyes. “You dirty servant bitch had the guts to talk to me like that? Who do you think you are?”

“Miss Audrey, please,” Elisabeth swallows. “She didn’t mean it.”

“Why are you interfering?” Tina barks. “Do you want to get popped too?”

Elisabeth shakes her head. “I didn’t mean- apologize, Lexie.” She nervously says.

I swallow, my scalp burning. “I’m sorry.”

“Dirty bitch, you’re just like her.” She hisses, striking me harder this time. “You will learn today, I think I’ve been too nice with you.”

“Help!” Elisabeth screams, her voice panicked.

Miss Audrey shoots her a glare, “Shut up, or you’re next.” She warns, once again slapping me across the face while Tina holds me steady by the hair to make it easier for the blows to land effectively. “You seem to have forgotten your place in this house.”

I laugh.

I don’t know what gets into me, my fight or flight instincts seem to have died. I have nothing left to lose, if I’m going to get hit. I’ll give Miss Audrey something to actually be mad about. “I didn’t forget,” I swallow, tasting a low metallic tang. “My place is at Luna Aeliana’s feet, and so is yours, but you seem to have forgotten that too Miss Audrey.”

Something dark and unforgiving flickers in her eyes. “You’re still talking?” Her eyes widen, her chest rapidly rising and falling. She grabs me by the collar and pulls me up, only to knock me down again. “This little shit.” She spits, venom in her tone.

I get up, only to be grabbed by her again and smacked repeatedly. Tina helps her, she throws me back her way when I try to run.

“Miss Audrey,” Elisabeth cries out. “Please forgive her, she’s bleeding,”

“She is nothing!” she screams, her voice high and unhinged. “She’s nothing! She is nothing but a Squeak. She stole him from me. She took everything! And you-you defend her? You bow to her? You worship her like she’s better than me?” She pauses, staring at me like a woman gone mad. “Do you think she’s better than me?”

I swallow, tasting blood. “Yes,” I say, my loyalty to Luna Aeliana unwavering. I’d rather die than heel to anyone
