Chapter 165
KINGSTON
When Aeliana storms out, I let her go. I give her time to let her anger simmer while I handle the situation. My brother had warned me that this would eventually happen, but I hadn’t banked on it, seeing neither Audrey nor Aeliana like violence.
I send Audrey to the healer with her assistant, and the crowd disperses on its own. I can’t believe the fight would have gone on had I not intervened, and my staff were placing bets on who would win. I don’t know what was more disappointing, their placing bets, or their not helping.
I’ve never seen Aeliana that angry before, she was so consumed by anger that she was hyperventilating when I intervened. Everyone has left the kitchen, leaving me with the reason why Audrey and Aeliana were at each other’s throats. “I’m sorry, Alpha.” She says for the third time since I told her it was okay. “It’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have responded so crudely to Miss Audrey, but I couldn’t keep quiet because she was speaking so badly about Luna Aeilana.”
I pause, “What?”
Lexie nods, “She said some awful things about her.”
“What did she say?”
Her gaze falls, “I can’t repeat it, but it was inappropriate, Alpha. Most people tend to say the same too, but Miss Audrey should know better.”
“These things…” I trail off, already having an idea of what it is that she might have said. I can’t stop people from having opinions, I tried it once before, but it hardly worked. Aeliana’s past actions struck a nerve. I may not mind anymore, but people don’t forget, and her being Luna is part of the reason why.
“I’m sorry for speaking out of turn, but some people need to get over the idea of Luna possibly leaving.” She says, her voice low and words clear, stern. “Some people are attached to Miss Audrey and think they owe her loyalty, so they’re against Luna Aeliana.”
“Gather everyone,” I tell her. The staff are indeed very attached to Audrey, but no one will disrespect my Luna on her ground. I know she lets those comments and insults roll off her back, but they stay on her mind, they’re why she doubts herself. “I’ll handle it.”
“Where do I tell them to gather?”
“I want everyone who works in the house to meet me in the training yard within the next twenty minutes, everyone.”
“Yes, Alpha.” She bows, quickly shuffling away. At the door, she meets Rowan, who makes way for her before he enters, screaming my name.
“Kingston,” he calls, as if scolding me.
“Yeah?”
He pulls a chair out, sitting down with his arms crossed over his chest. “What’s this I’m hearing about Aeliana and Audrey fighting?”
“I wouldn’t call it fighting considering only one of them has a broken nose, it was more of a beatdown.”
Rowan winces, “What? Audrey broke her nose?” His eyes widen, “Where the fuck were you? Uncle Dante will have

your ass for-”
“No,” I almost laugh. “It’s the other way around.”
Rowan gasps, shaking his head. “No.”
“Yes,” I grin proudly. “Aeliana kicked her ass.”
“Ellie?” He says with a raised eyebrow, his tone distrusting. “You’re fucking with me, aren’t you? There’s no way …I mean, little Aeliana Hartley beat Audrey up?”
“Aeliana Vale,” I correct him. “And she did just that,” I say, unable to fight that smile that repeatedly tickles the corner of my mouth. “I panicked for a moment when I heard of the fight, but she held her own.”
Rowan reclines in the chair, still staring at me funny. “Really?”
Okay.
Now I’m offended by his inability to process that my Aeliana can not only fight but win. “Why are you so surprised to hear my mate can throw a punch?”
“Because it’s Aeliana,” he says, as a matter of actuality. “The only punches she has ever landed were on an unmoving dummy, and any fight she won was because we fought for her.”
