“Babe?” I scoff, my eyes shifting between them. “Is that what you’re still calling my mate? My husband?”

“Aeliana, calm, down,” Kingston says, his tone commanding.

Usually, every bone in my body would be aching for submission, but I raise my voice at him too. “I am calm.” I snap, feeling nothing, absolutely nothing. “This psychopath shouldn’t be calling you by her pet name for you, you’re my husband, Kingston.” I choke out, pushing at his chest, but he doesn’t move him. “Did you forget that? Did you forget which one of us is your wife?”

“No.”

“I’m sorry,” Audrey says. “I’ve been calling him Babe for years, so sometimes it just…it slipped out.”

“It didn’t. You are trying to agitate me, and it’s working.” I nod, “You can get that win today, but never call my husband Babe again, the way you address him is inappropriate.”

Her jaw drops, “What? I said it slipped out, Aeliana.” She huffs, trying to play the victim again but I realise I need to start playing her games too. “I will try to-”

“No,” I snap. “You won’t try. From now on, you will refer to this man as Alpha Kingston, because that is what he is, are we clear?”

Her eyes widen, staring over my shoulder to where Kingston stands barely a foot behind me. “I-”

“I don’t want an explanation,” I tell her, I’m tired of her games, I’m tired of the evil narrative she paints me in so I might as well take charge and paint my own. “But you see, I will burst your fucking head open, and fix those loose screws up there if you dare talk to my mate like he were still your boyfriend,” I warn, meaning every single word. “You need to give it a rest, Kingston is my husband. All he is to you is your Alpha, and you will address him as such. Forget you dated him, forget you kissed him, forget every single time you touched him at my expense, or whatever happened here will be tame compared to what I do to you next.”

She gasps, “Aeliana.”

“Luna Aeliana,” I correct her. “We are not friends, we will never be friends, so don’t disrespect me by addressing me as anything but that. I’m your Luna, whether you like it or not, and that much is never changing, so you’d best get used to it. I know you always saw yourself where I’m standing, but it’s never going to happen, not in this lifetime.”

People continue to murmur.
