Sweat beads down my back as I step away from the fight mat, my torso aching from the intense boxing and my nose about to bleed. I’ve bled all of four times since the Squeak put her hands on me in front of the help.

“She got lucky,” Rita tsks. “She’d never win against Drey. The girl could barely throw a bunch.”

“She can,” I admit, my nose crinkling with a dull ache. “I was impressed she learned a few tricks, but she used them on the right person. I’m going to get back at her.”

Gemma grins, tossing me her water bottle. I stare at it, Gemma trains the kids, and she lets them touch her stuff. The bottle surely has snort and germs I can’t see. “Looks like your prayer has been answered,” She says, nodding over my shoulder. “She’s here.”

I look over my shoulder so fast I nearly strain my neck. The haste is unnecessary, I’m met with Danielle and Aeliana returning from what I can assume is a run, judging by their damp hair. “Why don’t you take her for a spin?” Rita asks, nodding towards the ring. “A little one-on-one.”

“Kingston will think I did it out of spite,” I groan. He already hasn’t spoken more than three words to me for three days now.

He hasn’t even checked on me, he simply sent Tina twice, and she reports back to him. He keeps running after Aeliana, just last night, I saw him carrying her upstairs while she was shit face drunk with that little friend of hers who was getting dragged in by Rowan.

“Dani,” Gemma waves. “Good morning, here to train? I’ve been waiting for our boxing match.”
