“More geography,” I correct him.

He shrugs, “I’m a life guy.” He says with a wink.

“Okay, life guy.” I laugh. “I’ll be back soon,” I say, tapping him on the shoulder. “You can wait inside or in my new car.”

“New car,” he nods.

“I have a new car,” I giggle, skipping into the house. I meet Lexie at the top of the staircase, and she lets me know how much better I look than when she first saw me this morning.

The first thing I do is call Kingston, he has a wide smile on his face when he answers. “There’s my beautiful mate,” He says, leaning back in his seat. “I’ve been meaning to call but I didn’t want to wake you.”

He appears to be dressed warmly, it must be winter in Astral Fang, our seasons differ, and while winter is coming any day soon, Astral Fang has longer and colder winters, and their mountains don’t help.

“Hi,” I almost whisper, seeing him right now hits me hard, I remember how much I miss him, but I play it cool before the tears wage war.

“Oh, how I’ve missed you, Siren.”

“I miss you too,” I smile. “Damien came over,” I say, unsure of why I’m addressing the present as past, but it’s a much safer topic.

Kingston nods, his smile tired. “Did he?”

“Yeah, he bought me flowers, and a car?!” I wheeze.

His smile widens, “Do you like it?”

“I love it,” I squeal, kicking my feet in the air. Kingston laughs at that. “Thank you, I can’t wait to ride it.”

He sighs, running a hand through his hair. “Never thought I’d be jealous of a car.”

“Jealous?” I pause.

“Yeah,” he sighs yet again. “You’re never that excited to ride me.”

“Kingston,” someone gasps in the background. Two people actually, Danielle and Rowan, I recognise their voices instantly.

Kingston rolls his eyes, “Oh, give me a break.” He snarls, staring over at what I assume is one of them. “You two were humping all night, let me miss my wife in peace.”

That makes me laugh, truly laugh. “I’m going to call you later, I have to change and drop Damien off at the club.”

“Damien?” He frowns, shifting in his seat. “He gets to ride in the car before me? No, Aeliana baby. I don’t like that.”

Cute.

He’s not bluffing either, but I will be driving Damien to the club. “He sort of brought the car here, so it’s really his second time.”

“I wanted to be the first person you take for a ride,” he growls, barely trying to hide his displeasure. “I would understand it if it were Noah because she’s always driving you around, but Damien?”

“I promise to take you on a drive when you return, as well as ride you, whichever order you prefer,” I tell him, my words sparking a light in his eyes. “But right now, I have to go, bye.”

“No, no, wait.” He straightens. “You said you’re changing your clothes?”

Someone snorts out a laugh in the background, “You’re so pitiful.”

“Yeah,” I laugh, ignoring the teasing in the background just like he does. They’re laughing at him, but he doesn’t look away from the screen.

“Go on, I want to look at you longer.”
