Alpha’s Rue: His Shunned Luna (Athena Enchanted) novel Chapter 378

He follows me to the parking lot and gives me her address, as well as Noah’s phone number, but I don’t call her out of fear that she might hang up on me or simply leave the house before u get there.

She’s been gone four days, every single one of those days has been absolute hell for Rowan. He doesn’t speak about her, but the day she left, he broke down. He broke down, and I didn't understand why, because in my mind, we were finally having what we always wanted. God, I was wrong, so wrong, and now there is a strain in our bond despite how normal Rowan keeps trying to be. Losing Noah is straining it, the sadness he so desperately tries to mask slips through, and I will never forgive myself if they both have to leave like this because I couldn’t get past two people being the ideal bond.

Noah’s car is outside her house, which gives me so much hope as I walk up to her door. I ring the doorbell twice before she answers from inside, “Coming!” She yells from inside, appearing at the door a minute later. She freezes when she sees me, “Danielle?”

“Hi,” my hand lifts with an awkward wave.

“He isn’t here.”

“I know,” I nod. “He’s at home,” I tell her, watching her face furrow with confusion as to why I’m standing out here if Rowan is home and not here like he was three days ago when Kingston had to drag him back home at her request. “I came to see you. Can I come in?”

“Sure,” she nods, stepping aside. “Sorry about the mess, I’m in the middle of sorting.” She says, leading me inside.

Her living room is a mess, she has suitcases and clothes scattered everywhere. “Are you going on a trip?”

“Home,” she confidently says, sitting down on top of some clothes. “I’m going home.”

“Why?”

“Really?” She frowns, “After what you and Rowan did to me?”

“He didn’t do anything.” I swallow, nothing that would make her leave.

Noah sighs, scratching her head, “Defending him won’t do anything. If he sent you here to come and coax me into reconsidering, he is even crazier than I thought.”

“He doesn’t know I’m here,” I tell her, finding a seat on the only empty sofa in the room. “I’m here for me.”

“Right,” she nods, folding something. “You are under the impression I’m carrying your child like a dutiful surrogate.” She snarls, “Sorry to disappoint you, Dani, but I’m not keeping it. The abortion was already done. There’s no baby.” She says, her voice breaking.
