“We will find her all the same.”

“Put out an alert,” Danielle suggests. “It’s going to be easy to find her, given she’s still in Mooncrest. Everyone knows Luna Aeliana.”

“You’re right, I will..” I nod, already texting heads of security at every border and patrol station.

“You go home, check if she’s there, I’ll go down to the institute and look from there to the north, you take Southeast.”

“Alright.”

“Dani, stay with him,” he tells her. “And page Doctor Blake if anything, and don’t tell Rowan where we are when he comes around.”

We part ways there.

I go straight home, and he goes to the institute. My engine is still raving when I walk into the house, “Aeliana!” I call, “Ellie?”

I hear footsteps that make my heart race as I follow them. For a moment, I’m convinced it's her because of how urgent the steps are, but it's just my mom. “Kingston.”

“Mom. Is Ellie here?”

“Umm, no,” she frowns. “She’s in the institute, did you forget? She’s getting treated.” She says, the last sentence is slow and unsure.

“She isn't there,” I swallow. “She escaped, or she was taken, I don’t know what happened exactly, but they don't know where she is.”

“Oh God,” my mother gasps. “How did that happen?”

“I don’t know, Mom, but I’m going to burn that place to the ground if I don’t find my mate, no one will survive. I entrusted them with her health, and they fucking lost her!”

“Don’t worry, son.” She pats my back. “We will find her. Why don’t you go, and I will stay here, I’ll wait and call you if she comes home.”

“Thank you, Mom.”

“Who else?” I demand.

“Isn’t it strange that Aeliana went missing after her father visited?” He frowns.

I don’t wait for more speculations. I know in that moment it’s him. The dots start clicking as I storm out to my car, with Maddox hot on my trail.
