“I can’t believe it,” Rowan sighs from the bathroom door.

I accompanied him to the bathroom after Maddox left to go and take care of James and the investigation I assigned him with, but instead of waiting for him, Rowan is the one waiting on me. I’ve been throwing up for the last ten five minutes.

“Neither can I,” I sigh. “But my throat does,” I tell him, popping gum in my mouth. I’ve started to carry gum and mints now, because I never knew when I’d throw up or why. But now, the why is very much clear, and I know Aeliana would hate this feeling.

“What are you going to do now?”

“Nothing,” I shrug. There doesn’t seem to be much I can do right now. I did consider getting her another psychiatrist, but I’m not leaving her alone with them. I will do all the necessary research and help her myself. “I will do the same thing that I’ve been doing. Love her.” I tell him, “I’ll love and dot on her until she realises how much she’s valued. The real her, not Riley or any other self she might conjure up.”

Rowan sighs, slapping my shoulder. “Hang in there.” He says, walking out. I follow him, leading us back to the room where Aeliana is. I left her with the nurse, she was conducting a scan to see if the baby was okay, and I didn’t want to be in the room because I wanted the first day we both see our pup to be a first for us both.

“I’m happy about one thing.”

Rowan pauses, “Which is?”

“She doesn’t have to deal with morning sickness or any other horrible pregnancy symptom. The bond is transferring it all to me.”

“The bond is punishing you,” he laughs, stepping away from the door when he sees the nurse coming out. “That’s why you’re feeling like you’re the one carrying the pup.”

“Is that true, Alpha?” The nurse pauses, her eyes lighting up.

“Yeah,” I nod. “From what I know, she hasn’t had any signs.”

“Your bond is pure,” she says. “Sympathetic pregnancy symptoms are rare among our kind. It’s amazing that you can experience these things. It just shows how cared for and loved our Luna is.”

I nod, “I would appreciate it if we kept it between us.” I tell her, “She’s not going to take it well if she finds out, and I don't want her hearing it from other people.”
