“You’re not going back there, baby.” He tells me. “You’re never going back to that place, I promise.”

“No more,” I beg, my gaze falling. “Hone—Kingston, please don’t ignore me like last time, give me this—give me…you have to.” I hiccup, struggling to breathe and talk through the heavy sobs. Losing Kingston hurt, but losing myself? That hurts even more. I can’t repeat this cycle. I’d rather spend my life locked up in that shithole, away from people who can see me lose my identity. “I can’t face anyone, my life is—”

“What happened?” Someone gasps, my gaze drifts to the door, and I find Maddox back with the doctor, dragging in a machine. “You were with her for ten minutes.” He scolds. “What did you do?”

“She thinks she’s crazy.” He says, the words foreign on his tongue.

“Luna Aeliana, you’re not crazy.”

“Evelyn,” I sniff. “Where is Evelyn? I want to leave, get my nurse!”

“Calm down, Luna.” The doctor tells me.
