I shake my head, leaving him at the door. He doesn’t move, he just stands there in silence while I undress and get in the tub. I can’t even relax, it doesn’t matter where I look, I can still feel his gaze on me. “Stop watching me,” I grumble. “I’m not going to drown myself.”

“You’re shadowing me as if you think so,” I quietly say, staring at the bubbles in the bath. “Have you tried looking in the mirror? You’re so scared of leaving me alone because you don’t know what the crazy pregnant girl will do next to herself or her.”

He sighs, “You are not crazy, and I’m overbearing.” He groans, “I’ll wait inside for you, take your time.” He says, locking the door behind him.

I indeed do take my time. I stay in the bathroom longer than I should just to make him lose it. I don’t leave when the water gets cold, I leave when I start to fall asleep to the echoing silence in my head. My thoughts seem to be vanishing every now and then, and when no one is talking directly to me, I feel like I’m not in the room and I’m watching someone else live.

When I emerge from the bathroom, I find Kingston sitting at the edge of the bed, nervously tapping his foot. “See, I didn’t drown myself in there.”

“I brought you something warm to wear,” She says, his voice strained.

I take one look at the clothes and nod, taking them back to the bathroom, and when I return, even he is ready for bed. I slide into bed quietly, my back turned to him.
