Chapter 441
“I know,” I sigh. I will never doubt Kingston’s love for me again, not when he has proved it time and time again that he does love me. What is yet to be proven is if that love is enough, it doesn’t seem like it right now, not when we both can’t look each other in the eye without one of us breaking.
“Are you okay?”
“I miss my honey,” I mumble. “She must be so sad.”
I feel him shift, moving close. “Noah?” he asks. “She’s fine, she’s at home.”
“No. That means she’s not fine, my Noah doesn’t go home, she gets called home but never goes unless she’s really lost.”
“She’s doing fine.” He insists.
“You don’t know that.” I snap.
“I do, actually.” He softly says, his hand brushing over my hair. “I spoke to her brother a few days ago, and she’s thriving according to him.”
Her brother? Which one of Noah’s brothers would be friends with Kingston? They’re all rather….”Calix?” I almost whisper. He is likely to be more mature and friendly to the friend of his enemy.
“Yeah.”
“Sounds like him,” I snicker. If Noah is with Calix, then she’s very safe and potentially happy because she is surrounded by his huge ass family. She’s in another packhouse, except there, everyone adores her and wouldn’t do half the things we did to her. “He doesn’t know for sure, he just won’t let anyone know if he failed to cheer her up.”
“Would you like to see Noah?” He asks, “I mean, we can fly there after-well, there’s this doctor who I hired to evaluate you back when-”
“No,” I immediately decline. I’ve had enough doctors, and in a situation where I’m dying, I would rather die than let another fucking doctor touch me. My psychiatrists have failed me, all of them, including their colleagues. They didn’t help me get better like they keep promising him. I do not want any more doctors.
“I’ll be right here with you,” he tells me. “I won’t leave the room once. Don’t overthink it, calm, it’ll be okay. He might help you remember certain things. We have to make sure Riley never comes again.”
I swallow, fingers nervously tapping on the mattress. I’ve been afraid of that Riley coming back, too, and what if I get stuck again? “Will you send me back if she does return?”
“Never,” he kisses the side of my head. “I’ll wait for you to feel safe enough to be you again.”
“You say that now..” I trail off, unable to say the rest out loud. I’ve seen him under pressure. I was there both times when he gave up on me and stuck me in that shithole,
“I’ll prove it if tested, but I hope I don’t get tested again because you’ve been through so much already,” he says, his voice cracking towards the end of his sentence. “I won’t gamble with you, Aeliana. You always win for me, okay?”
I lost.
But no one gets that, they’ve all moved past it, or they keep trying to by smiling at me and telling me how pretty

my hair looks, or telling me how much they missed me. I don’t like anyone in this house at the moment. I’m still bitter about how not a single one spoke up for me. It would have made no difference, but it would have meant something to me. Instead, they just stared and tried to convince him I needed this, I needed to be locked up until my brain decided to shut off.
“Let’s try to call Noah.”
“She’s sleeping,” I sniff. “It’s late.”
