The picture starting to form in my mind slowly starts to blur my vision. I don’t even realise I’m stalking her until I feel Aeliana’s hand around my wrist, her fingers trembling. “Don’t leave,” she whispers.

I hold her hand, my gaze still on Audrey. “The next time I see you, you should be collecting the rest of your staff.”

“Are you kicking me out?” She gasps. “Kingston, I’m one of your strongest warriors. I’m the pup’s head trainer.”

“All of which you can continue to do from your new location,” I tell her. She should have left the moment I realised she made Aeliana doubt my intentions towards her, but I felt sorry for her, and it didn’t matter to me where she lived. I was done and closed from the chapter of what we had. Aeliana wasn’t bothered either. She pretended she wasn’t bothered, but the way her hands trembled seeing me walk away from her and in Audrey’s direction just proves she held this in, too.

“How?” She chokes out. “My apartment is across the pack.”

“There are plenty of rooms in the shared houses. You could stay with your co-trainer, Gemma has the trainer’s house to herself.” I tell her they should have no problem residing together, seeing that they’re friends. “Five bedrooms, I’m sure it’ll accommodate you and your psychotic personality just fine.”

“But I-” she blinks, “I don’t..” she trails off, jogging up the stairs with her unfinished sentence. The next time I see Gamma Cole, I’m beating his ass for her behaviour. He spoiled her, he is the reason why she thinks she can do anything she wants, and everyone else has to live with it. She is worse than Riley’s world.

Aeliana squeezes my hand, her eyes wide when I turn to look at her. “What is happening?” She asks, staring at Audrey as she leaves.

“Nothing of importance,” Maddox answers for me.

“You’re kicking her out.” She says, her voice unsure.

I pause, “Do you want her around?”

Her response is instant and assertive. “No,” she says. “But that…that was a bit harsh,” she frowns. “You let her stay in this house for years, this was her second-first home maybe, and now you just kicked her out in a fit? At least give her some time.” She huffs, seemingly irritated by the decision I made for her safety. I don’t know how far Audrey will go to pursue a friendship with Aeliana. “You’re always so nice to her, disgustingly nice.” She says with an eyeroll. “So what the hell changed just now? Because she does no wrong in anyone’s eyes.’

I’m debating whether I should tell her or simply wait for her to recall on her own when Maddox speaks. “Oh, she touched something she shouldn’t have, disgustingly so.”

Aeliana frowns, letting go of my hand and going to him. “I don’t get it.”

“Maddox,” I warn.

“No, why are you threatening him?” She pauses, an eyebrow raised at me. “I want to know what happened in perfect couple paradise.” She forces a smile, “What happened between you and the golden girl that has you threatening my friend?”
