Chapter 459
AELIANA
It’s been over thirty-seven hours since I last saw Kingston. He looked so spaced out in the doctor’s office, and he kept zoning out after that. I knew that’d happen before I said a word about the electrocution. That’s why I caught myself multiple times before I spoke. I know what it feels like to feel responsible for our pup not growing as it should, and I didn’t want him to feel that, but I had to ask, I had to find out if that was the reason because if Doctor Bridget knows, then she can help, right?
Fuck. I should have spoken to her when it was just us two. I hate feeling this way, I hate not knowing where he is, and nobody seems to be concerned about his disappearance. Rowan said he told him he had something to take care of, and that was what he had said to me too, but what kind of ‘thing’ takes him out of the house for this long?
I was hoping he would be home by dinner like I asked, but he didn’t come back, and when I asked Maddox where he was after he came to remind me to take my prenatal vitamins, he too claimed he was taking care of ‘something. ‘I know they’re lying. They don’t know where he is, but they’re not worried because it’s Kingston, he can take care of himself.
“My Aeliana,” Noah sighs. “You’re making me dizzy with all this pacing.” She tells me. “Sit down, we came here so you could relax but-”
“I think something happened to Kingston,” I bite out. “He wasn’t okay yesterday.”
“I don’t think any of these Mooncrest men are okay in the head.” She snickers, “Damien is the exception, I love that boy. I need to see him before I leave.”
“My Noah,” I whine. “I’m serious here, something might have happened to him,” I tell her, tapping my true luna mark. It should flicker if he’s okay, and it does, but there’s this unsettling feeling that has consumed Lumi and me since the ride back home from the hospital yesterday.
Noah frowns, an eyebrow raised at me. “Have you looked at your husband, my Ellie? The man is huge. You might be used to it, but trust me, nothing can happen to Kingston. He’s too big to be kidnapped, too strong to be robbed. And too Alpha for anything else. Are you worried he could be with another woman?”
I pause.
I had not considered that. And he did kick out Audrey, but I don’t think he’d go back to her, not when he looked like that. “I’d have felt it,” I confidently tell her. “He can’t stick his dick anywhere near another shewolf without the bond rating him out. I doubt he’d even get a kiss in because I feel those too.”
“Everything?” She frowns. “So when…”
“Yes.” I nod, answering her unspoken question. Danielle did feel it all, but lucky for her, Rowan wasn’t betraying their bond, so she didn’t experience any betrayal pains. “I think it works that way in triads too.
“So why don’t I feel it?” Her head tilts, her face furrowing with confusion. “Don’t tell me. Doesn’t matter, I’m not a part of that circus anymore.”
My eyes drop to her stomach, she has a scarf on her shoulder in case anyone comes close because you can definitely see her baby bump in this mini dress. “You added a new member to the circus.”
“That’s not fair,” she pouts. “And it doesn’t count because I’m not in the circus anymore.”
I nod.
I’ve seen the way she looks at both Rowan and Danielle from across the room. The train to the circus hasn’t left
