Chapter 464
DAMIEN

I’ve been dying to visit Aeliana since I heard she was released from the institute, but between the clubs, preparing for the opening of my new restaurant and the fact that she was not herself, I couldn’t see her earlier.
My brother and I went through a bit of a rough road after I helped her escape, that rough road being had to run and hide at our parent’s house so he wouldn’t break my legs for what I’d done, but i think we’ve moved past itali he invited me over twice since she regained her memory but I still couldn’t come over because River and i had plans.
Today is River’s solo day, we each get a single day every month for some me time while the other stays home with the boys, and we’re not allowed to call each other until six PM. It’s great. she gets to do everything she’s been putting off and enjoy pampering herself while I take care of our children. It’s likely the best thing we’ve come up with as parents. I love seeing her face light up, almost as much as my sister-in-law’s face does when she sees me walk through the door, wheeling Elian’s stroller in. “D!” She gasps, running to hug. Noah appears from the kitchen too, also running to hug me.
I’ve never had a female friendship this pure, much less one that doesn’t piss River off. “My favourite duo.” “I missed you,” Aeliana pouts. “I thought you broke up with me after… the incident.”
“Never,” I smile. “We’re family, A. Two punches can’t change shit, and given another chance, I’d do that all again in a heartbeat.” I tell her, my gaze shifting to the other bright smile in the room. One I didn’t expect to see here or anywhere in Mooncrest after our last conversation. She was dead set on not wanting to be here anymore, and she was sad too. But she’s glowing right now, just like Aeliana, they seem so happy to be together again. “Noah, so lovely of you to grace us with your presence.”
“See, I knew you’d appreciate it,” she giggles, her eyes widening when she sees the stroller behind me. “And you brought the baby.” She almost whispers, her voice switching instantly.
“Yep, got Alex too,” I tell them, looking back to see where my son is. He ran to the gardener the moment I freed him out of his car seat. “Their Mom needed a break, so I took the boys out and thought, why not come see their
aunt.”
Aeliana pauses, an eyebrow raised at me. “Hmm, so I take it Luna Estelle still isn’t back from her vacation?”
“Nope,” I sigh. I did, in fact go to my mother’s house before I came here, but the only person there was Vittoria, and I couldn’t leave my kids with her despite the staff being there. “But I’m here because I missed you.”
“Is he sleeping?” Noah asks, her eyes unmoving from Elian’s stroller.
“Yeah, he sleeps plenty….” I trail off, wheeling the stroller in front of her so she can see him for herself. Elian is an absolute angel, the boy doesn’t cry unless he needs his diaper changed or he’s starving, which he never is because
