Alpha’s Rue: His Shunned Luna (Athena Enchanted) novel Chapter 471

Chapter 471

“Being the oldest doesn’t guarantee a child will be heir. I’m younger than Callum, am I not? And besides, siren. I don’t want an ideal child, I want a loved child. A desired child, and our baby girl is going to be just that.” He tells me, and I can feel the smile in his words. He is so confident we’re having a girl, and I’m confident it has to be a boy. “I’m going to spoil her rotten.” 1

“Wow, you want a girl that bad?

“I want a mini you that bad,” he sighs. “I’ll be just as happy with a boy too, but then what will I do with the ballet skirt I’m about to buy myself for tea parties?

“You’ll wear a skirt to her tea parties, I’m jealous.” I pout. He has been to his fair share of tea parties. Between his sisters and me, he was at tea parties once or twice. “You were mad every time you came to

one of mine.”

“I loved it,” he laughs. “Especially the pretend biscuits, and I pretended to hate it because it was bad for my street cred. I mean, what Alpha goes to tea parties…”

“Well then your daughter will be very lucky,” I snuggle closer. “But you’ll have to wait at least three years to have your tea parties because you’ll be having sword fights until then with our son.”

“That’s not fair or correct,” he argues. “Our baby is a girl, I can feel it in my desperation. It’s a fatherly

instinct.”

Well, my motherly instinct the woman carrying him hinted to me. I know he’s a boy, a very happy mommy’s boy.”

“No, this is daddy’s pretty princess.” He confidently says.

“Oh, and what does that make me?

“The love of my life,” he kisses the top of my head. “Owner of my soul.” Another kiss. “The sole reason I look forward to opening my eyes every morning.”

My heart shouldn’t race at his words, but it does, and my stomach does that stupid thing it does around him. “I see, but why not your heart?”

“It’s yours too.”

“You didn’t say so,” I grumble. “You’re saving it for your daughter who’ll be born after my son, right?”

“She can have a piece of it, but the whole of it belongs to my Siren,” He quietly says. “I don’t know if this is weird, but I’ll always love you the most. I’ll choose you before anyone else, and while I’ll love our baby, boy or girl, unconditionally, you’re my number one, Aeliana.” He trails off on an unspoken thought. “And they’ll learn to love that about me because they’d never exist if not for you.”

“They would,” I snarl, eager to pick a fight. “You’d have kids with Audrey.”

He lets out a frustrated growl, “I curse the day I picked up that pen and wrote her back.”

He wrote her back.

But letters were our thing, we communicated in coded letters when we were, and as we grew older, we continued to write each other letters even when we could text. I wrote him every single day after he left for the academy, every day until Audrey received a letter from him and I didn’t. It was the most sudden thing, I felt like the universe had tilted or something. He never did like her, so why had he written to her and not me?

“Which is?

“Just notes,” he says, but I know it’s not just notes. And just notes could range from ten words to thousands. “We write about the little things I think she’d like to know, or simply a recap of your day carrying her. That’s mostly what I wrote.”

“Not long. And no need to catch up. It’s from us both.”

I feel left out.
