Chapter 470

“Understandable. They need to grovel a little harder.”

I pause, looking up at him. “Have you done grovelling?”

“I’d grovel the rest of my life just for you, Luna Aeliana.” He confidently says, “Just say what you need me to do, and I’ll do it. I’ll get on my knees a thousand times.”

“I’m feeling a little spiteful.”

“What do you want me to do?”

“The older council,” I almost whisper. I thought about those old geezers for days in the institution and a few times since I’ve been back. Most times, I want to put a few wolfsbane-laced bullets in them.

They contributed heavily to me being sent away. They pressured Kingston, and they kept twisting things to work in their favour. “They don’t like me,” I tell him. “I replaced the Luna they groomed, and so, they’ll always vote against me. That was the first of many, and it was far more than just irritating. They’re selfish, and is it really about the pack if they’re only concerned about what they get out of it?”

“I’ll find a way to get rid of them.”

“No,” i groan. “That will make things worse for me, the pack will turn against me if you dissolve the older council. It’s unheard of, and we don’t have to do that. Everyone needs to face some consequences. I did, and now I want to put them through a bit of hell…you know?”

He hums in approval. “I’ll handle it.”

“You?” I pull back, still in his arms.

“Yes, me,” he snorts. “They’re not my council, so I’m not attached to them, much less after that last gathering. Half of them are already on my shitlist. I didn’t act because you’d have hated for me to do so. They’ll each suffer a loss they care about, and no, I won’t touch the innocent just to exact revenge.”

I smile, snuggling into his chest. “I’ve raised you right.”

He doesn’t answer, he’s already plotting what he’ll do to the older council, and I have a couple of ideas. My father is friends with them, so I know some of their dirty secrets because they more than often spoke freely in front of him. Old laundry is still laundry, more so if it has the same impact.

“Kingston,” I tap his arm.

“Yes, Siren?”

“Noah was telling me her baby’s names.”

“Already?” He lowly gasps. “She likes to plan ahead, huh?”

“Yes,” I smile. “But it’s not her, her dad named the baby already. He is very excited about being a grandfather. She’s also his favourite child.” 1

Freya. That was my mom’s name. My heart still aches a little when I hear that name, and I didn’t think of it as a baby man, but now I can’t u hear it. He’d name our daughter after the woman I’ve grieved my whole life. “That one is final, but for a first…maybe Arabella.”

“Cute,” I swallow.

“Ravenna, but raven for short. Astra, Rayne, and my personal favourite, Aeliana.”

“That is so conceited,” I laugh. “I’m not naming my child after its parent.”

“Liana? But we’ll call her Lia.” He suggests, but it’s too close to my name. “Eleanor maybe, Athalia, Katherine, Serenity, Auralyn, Rhea, Demetra or-”

“Wait,” I interrupt, finally noticing a pattern with his very joyous listing. There is not a single boy name, or unisex name. “Why are they all girl names?”

“Because we are having a girl,” he confidently says. “It has to be a girl.”

“Has to be?” I frown. “You do know there’s a fifty-fifty chance, right?”

“Yes, but I’d like to ignore the other fifty.”

“You need an heir,” I remind him. “A boy is ideal.” 1
