I gulp, staring at her. Trying to see the purpose of all this twisted nonsense. I still can’t tell if she’s in love with Aeliana or just obsessed with tormenting her and somehow convincing herself she was doing a saintly deed. “In what way was any of this for her?”

“All she had to do was like me,” she shrugs. “She would be happier if she were with me, we’d live just fine without you.” Her smile falls, “And you.” She says, turning to Seraphine. “All she had to do was accept me and apologise for it. I didn’t even want her love.” She says, her voice cracking. “I just wanted her to stop hating me, but she was always disgusted when she looked at me.” She swallows, tears gleaming in her eyes.
