Alpha’s Rue: His Shunned Luna (Athena Enchanted) novel Chapter 491

Chapter 491

KINGSTON

“How do we handle this?” Caleb asks, “I mean, you’ve punished her, but let’s not forget she is a member

of the council.”

“Was,” Rowan corrects him. “But yes, I catch your drift. We, as the council, have yet to give our verdict.

She is serving Alpha’s punishment, she is yet to see ours.”

“Is it necessary?” Titus frowns, another one of my Gammas. “His punishment outweighs ours.’”

I shift, fixing the pillow under my foot.

Over the last couple of days, every meeting has found me either at the dining table or in bed. Most of them find me up here, and I make sure to be done by the time Aeliana comes up after her therapy

session, which isn’t for the next few hours.

Today, the agenda of our meeting is Audrey.

As one of the head trainers, and warriors, she was a member of the pack council. The council is to punish her for her crimes, mostly the ones after Aeliana was crowned Luna. It’s their job, and they’ve been bugging me for justice for three days now, but since they came into our bedroom an hour ago, nobody has said anything significant enough to wrap this meeting up.

“What do you have in mind?” I ask, my gaze shifting among them. “Your verdict must be delivered tomorrow, and you best defend it in front of the older council because I won’t be present to back it.”

“Yes, Alpha.” Eric nods. “We will manage just fine, as long as you approve of us.”

“I do,” I nod. “I want everyone to be punished. I don’t care how long ago it was, consequences don’t have an expiry date.” I tell them, “My Luna has been shunned repeatedly over false accusations, do not disappoint me by being merciful to Warrior Cole. I know most of you are fond of her, but in light of recent revelations, I expect you to perform your duty diligently. You came to me yourselves asking for the chance to punish her so-”

“Is hanging too far?” Rowan asks, “She tried to kill Luna Aeliana in that car wreck. She has admitted to having been the person behind the wheel of a borrowed vehicle. Not just that, but we have more than enough to sentence her to death.”

“Death is too easy,” Maddox argues. “In her case, it’s a reward. Imagine spending over a decade manipulating the council, our Alpha, and then proceeding to torment our Luna only for her to be hanged or slaughtered.” He shakes his head. “Too easy. She deserves to be alive and live through the hell she put our Luna through. I’ve already sent word to the dungeon so everyone knows what she did to our

Luna.”

“She’d have none left,” Maddox snickers. “I say we go for her bloodline. Nobody from the Cole lineage will ever gain standing in our council.”

“Fair,” I nod. This is already something I myself considered, but they haven’t had any original punishments, so I let them have this one. “What else?” 1

Another one of the Gammas sighs, “I was going to vote for execution, but since it’s out of the question. How about-” he pauses when the door creaks open.

I turn my head towards it, it’s Aeliana. I haven’t seen her since breakfast, she was eager to get downstairs to finish something with Evelyn. “Hey baby,” I smile, my voice softer than intended. She looks different, nervous, and flushed. “Shouldn’t you be on call with-”

The words barely leave my mouth when she blurts out. “Fuck me.” She says, stepping further inside the room. Only then does she notice the council on the other side of the room. Her eyes widen, and she slaps a hand over her mouth, crimson spraying all over her face. The confidence on her face a moment ago is replaced with a familiar shyness.

“Out,” I say, not bothering to look at them as I speak. “Now.”

They move fast, barely gathering anything they came in with as they head for the door. Aeliana backs herself against the wall, her gaze horrified still as she watches them leave. I catch Rowan teasing her before he walks out the door, but everyone else just passes in silence.

“Have fun,” Maddox says, heading out the door. He’s the last to leave, but the moment he steps outside of it, Aeliana follows.

“Aeliana,” I call, my voice making her pause with a trembling hand on the door. She wasn’t expecting anyone but me up here. “You were saying something?”
