Chapter 493
AELIANA
The day turned out to be quite eventful.
Luna Estelle took me for a walk, and we got back home, River and Damien had come to visit. Damien is easily my. pick-me-up, and having him around today has taken my mind off tomorrow.
Luna Estelle took Axel and Elian for the night, so River and Damien decided to stay the night. Dinner was loud, and somehow the most peaceful one I’ve had in a long time. Since then, we’ve all gathered in the private lounge for a game of cards. Kingston has beaten Damien twice, and he isn’t having it.
“You cheated,” He claims, for the fifth time since his second loss.
“How did I cheat?” Kingston frowns, massaging my feet still. “My hands have been very occupied.”
“Babe, you lost,” River tells him. “I think it’s time to accept defeat. It was fair play.”
“You know what’s not fair?” he groans, sulking as he turns to his brother. “I’ve been dreaming of having a daughter for such a long time, and then you just get my daughter.”
I frown, wondering how fast the game just shifted and if I missed something when I started dozing. “What do you mean, D?”
“You’re having a girl.”
“I’m having a boy,” I argue, I’ve had more than enough free time to read up on myths surrounding gender, and I’m well caught up. More than half of them say I’m having a boy, and I feel like I’m having a boy.
“Not this time,” Damien shakes his head, pointing to the very non-existent belly under my hand. “That baby is a girl.”
“Did you have the dream?” Kingston asks, and Damien nods with a smile, a mirror that Kingston mirrors, annoyingly so.
I shift, sitting up. “The dream?” I ask, staring between them.
“Yeah, Damien has a gift,” River says. “If and when he is around a pregnant woman, he often has dreams about what gender their babies will be.” She tells me, “He has been right about his sisters, his cousins, nephews, nieces, and also our sons.” She says with an eyeroll. “It’s annoying.”
Damien sighs, “It’s a heavy cross to carry.” He says with a smug grin.
Is that possible?
“No,” I shake my head. “There is no such thing as a gift. He can’t get the curiosity off his mind, and it manifests as a dream, it’s purely coincidental.”
“It’s a gift, A. I’m telling you,” he argues. “You’re having a girl, I had this dream some time back, and since the last time I was here with you and Noah. I’ve had the same one repeatedly.”
“What dream?”
He clears his throat, excited to prove his point which is very much wrong because I will be having a boy. The goddess owes me one answered prayer, and this one has to be it. “I was here for I don’t know what reason, but right over there,” he points out the door, where we can see the staircase. “There were two little girls, dressed in all pink with their fairy wands, and they called me Uncle Damiwan.”

“Cute story,” I frown. “But I’m not having twins, see you’re wrong.’
“I’m not wrong, well not entirely.” His eyes shift to Rowan, a flicker of confusion flashing through his gaze before he turns to me again. “Kingston picked up one, and Rowan the other, they were playing horses, and I vividly remember you being seated right there, hand over your belly, and laughing with me.”
A cold chill runs down my back, and I feel Kingston’s arm around me. Nobody in this room but us two knows that Noah is pregnant. Could Damien be right? That would mean Noah is having a baby girl too.
