Chapter 535

Kingston appears at the bottom of the stairs, laughing with Caleb about something, but he goes quiet the moment he sees me. I’m in shock, I’m not due for another two weeks. That was the whole point of my making Kingston clear his schedule so we could visit Calen. I had an appointment with my doctor two days ago, and she said the baby would be coming in two

weeks. This is not two weeks!

“What happened?” Kingston asks from below, staring wide-eyed at us.

“She’s in labour,” Evelyn tells him. “Her water broke, and she’s already having contractions.”

“Contractions?” I frown, this feels nothing like what Noah claimed it was. “I’m not due for another-hmmff!”

“The baby is coming,” Evelyn confidently says. “I’m going to get you downstairs. Can you walk?”

I nod, holding onto her while she leads me down the stairs. Kingston meets us halfway at the top and carries me to the car, trying to do all the weird shit his research claimed he should do when I’m in labour. He doesn’t even go back for our hospital bag, he’s too nervous to remember it, and I’m in too much pain to ask for it. We’ve done drills. He wanted to be perfect when the moment came, but now that the moment is here, we’ve both forgotten our practice

runs.

By the time we get to the hospital, I’m hanging on by a thread. “You’re okay baby.” He tells me, holding my hand as we wait for Doctor Bridget. We agreed Maddox would deliver our baby, but he isn’t in Mooncrest at the moment, so I’m glad when I see Doctor Bridget walk into the room.

“Luna Aeliana,” Doctor Bridget smiles, pulling her gloves on. “Didn’t expect to see you this soon.”

“Me neither,” I rasp.

“Breathe, baby,” Kingston tells me, wiping the sweat off my forehead with his hand.

The nurse who examined me while they fetched Doctor Bridget speaks up. “She’s already dilated.”

“That was fast. This baby is ready to meet you.” She says, peeking between my legs. “Alpha Kingston, do you want to deliver the baby? I will coach you through it. Someone get him a pair of gloves. Now.”

The other end of the curtain is pulled back, “I’m here. I’m here!” Luna Estelle screams,

making her way into the room, already dressed like one of the doctors.

“Mom,” I gasp.

“I’m here dear,” she smiles, rushing to my side. She promised she’d be with me when I had my baby, and she’s fulfilled her promise. “I came as soon as I could.”
