Chapter 91
KINGSTON
We don’t leave my parents’ house until sometime in the afternoon because Aeliana overslept. I didn’t want to wake her, she was curled against me, and moving would have woken her up. No one in the house bothered to wake us, Aeliana herself woke me when she was ready.
Rowan had been calling me for a very long time, but his calls went unanswered because I had my phone muted during the movie last night. We took a quick shower, as quickly as it could get after I decided I was going to eat her pussy for breakfast.
The ride back home is quiet, she can barely keep her eyes open. She keeps dozing against the window. I keep stealing glances at her, I should be calm but no, my thoughts are racing, all around her. If anything I’m dazed, slightly confused.
All she does is accidentally brush her hand over my leg as she turns up the music and I get the sudden urge to pull over, drag her into my lap, fuck her again. I want to lock her in the house and steal her from the sights of any and every other man. That last bit is concerning, I’ve always been a little protective of her but this feels different, primal almost.
When I pull into the driveway, Rowan is already waiting for me, pacing. My engine is still humming when he makes his way to the car. “Good afternoon,” he says, to no one in particular. “Nice of you to finally join us, I’ve been trying to reach you both.”
“Did something happen?” Aeliana gasps. “My phone is in my room.”
Rowan nods, “We have a guest, from Clinshore.”
“Clinshore?” I frown, I’m not expecting anyone. Maybe Marvin’s contact, the hunter I put on Aeliana is here. If so, she’s going to have a fit if she finds out I was having her watched. I quickly get out of the car, “Who is it? Has Marvin seen them?”
He shrugs, “Why would Marvin see him? He’s here for Aeliana.”
“Me?” She gasps.
Rowan nods, “He showed up at the gates looking for Aeliana Hartley, the border patrol officers personally drove him here. He has been waiting for hours.”
A he? Looking for my wife? My mate?
Someone seems to have a death wish, one that I would certainly enjoy executing.
Aeliana steps out of the car, silent. She no longer looks sleepy, a few worry lines have made home on her forehead. I slam the door shut, following Rowan. “Oh, there’s our guest.”
Aeilana gasps, “Proff?”
Proff? What in the hell kind of name is Proff?
Everything happens so fast, one moment, she is standing next to me and the next, she runs, actually runs, straight into his arms. He catches her, laughing as he lifts her off the ground and spins her.
Red distorts my vision.
I can’t believe my eyes, she just ran right into another man’s arms in front of me and he fucking spun her like

they were in some low-grade rom-com.
I charge towards them, Rowan grabs my hand. “Easy, Alpha.”
Easy? I shove past him. Let his mate hug this tall scholarly-looking man and see if he lasts as long as I have without breaking this man’s face.
Aeliana is laughing with him, still hugging this fucker like he’s her long-lost brother and he has the audacity to laugh with her. Nothing is that funny, no joke is funny enough to touch my wife. I wrap my arm around her waist and j tug her towards me, her back hitting my chest.
She lets out an audible gasp, momentarily tensing but she relaxes when she sees me. The man pauses, staring at us, looking down at where I hold her. I’ve never wanted for her to wear her wedding ring as much as I do now, he would have known she’s mine the second he saw it, that thing catches the eye from miles away.
“Hello,” he greets, his face blank.
“Wife,” I growl into her neck, voice low enough that only she hears. “Who the fuck is this?”
She twists, freeing herself from my hold. “Professor Ellingham,” she says, like it’s obvious, like I’m supposed to know this man just by his name or voice. “We worked together in Clinshore, Professor Ellingham is thee best in
“Hello,” I greet him, just to stop her from talking. Her voice has a familiar excitement when she speaks of him- to him, she sounds like a little girl marketing a toy to her best ability, so mommy and daddy can buy it for her.
Professor Ellingham smiles, “Alpha Kingston Vale, right?” He asks, putting his hand forward. “It’s nice to meet you.” He says, shaking my hand, firm and strong. “You have a lovely pack.”
“We do, what brings you to Mooncrest?”
“Aeliana,” he says. Not miss Hartley, not Mrs Vale, just Aeliana. I wonder how fond they are that he is comfortable flirting with her in my presence.
“She’s fine,” I snap. “Aren’t you, wife?”
His eyes widen, “You-you’re married?” he stutters, jaw slanting so hard it’s practically on the ground. “Wow.”
