Chapter 115 When Are You Getting Divorced?
Chapter 115 When Are You Getting Divorced?
Back in the car, Natasha immediately sensed that something was off.
Jared was clearly pissed.
She honestly had no idea what he was so upset about.
All she did was refuse to take the clothes from an entire boutique he’d bought for her.
She wasn’t his sugar baby or anything. Why should she take his stuff out of nowhere?
Besides, she didn’t live in some fancy mansion. There’s no way she could cram all those clothes from a whole boutique into her apartment.
Both of them were locked in a silent standoff, stubbornly refusing to speak.
The air in the car got even frostier.
The luxury car soon pulled up to her new place, Oceanview International.
Natasha unbuckled her seatbelt, ready to get out.
But Jared suddenly grabbed her wrist.
“So, when are you getting divorced?” Jared asked.
He fixed his dark, intense gaze on her, as if he was trying to see straight through her.
Natasha was stunned. “Huh?”
Jared said, “After you get divorced, be with me. I promise, you’ll be the only woman I ever buy clothes for.”
He sounded dead serious.
But Natasha felt especially awkward.
Jared had seen it tonight. Percy, her husband, took Joelle, her sister, out shopping for clothes.
Natasha wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.
But even if she divorced Percy, would things really work out with Jared?
Percy was the Grosso family’s illegitimate son, and he never cared about Natasha before or after they got married.
Let alone someone like Jared, the heir to a top-tier family.
Natasha wasn’t clueless about her situation.
She knew better than to think being with Jared would magically change her life.
In the end, she’d be another girl in his collection.
Natasha said, “Thanks, but I’m used to buying my own clothes.”
Natasha thought, ‘Men can’t be trusted.
Women feel most secure when they spend their own money.
‘If I want new clothes, I’ll buy them myself. No need to rely on any guy or worry about what he thinks.’
Jared hadn’t expected that answer. He looked at her with newfound respect.
He thought, ‘The woman I’ve got my eye on is different.
‘So she’s not the type to be swayed by money, huh?
‘Winning her over is going to be tougher than I thought.’
Natasha brushed his hand aside, stepped out of the car, and walked away.
Jared stared at her retreating figure, feeling restless and irritated.
But then he remembered Natasha had moved out and was living alone now.
He guessed her marriage was falling apart, and it was only a matter of time before she got divorced.
Jared couldn’t help but feel a hint of smug satisfaction.
Natasha had barely stepped through the door when she got a call from Percy, as she expected.
“What’s up?” Natasha said.

Her flat tone threw Percy for a loop.
“Did you shut down all my credit cards?” Percy snapped, clearly pissed.
Natasha didn’t even hesitate. “Yeah, I did.”
Percy exploded. “Who gave you the right to mess with my credit cards? What makes you think you can cancel them without asking me?”
He’d let Joelle down today and ended up being humiliated in front of her.
Joelle now thought he was too cheap to buy her clothes, and she was ignoring him.
Natasha let out a cold, mocking laugh. “Because I’m your wife, legally. Isn’t that enough of a reason?”
Percy’s brows furrowed. “Wife? Don’t forget, you already promised to divorce me. Why didn’t you show up at City Hall that day? Are you backing out, trying to hold onto me deliberately?”
Natasha couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
She thought, ‘Where does he get that kind of confidence?
‘Does he think I’m that into him?’
‘I knew his heart belonged only to Joelle. Does he think I’m shamelessly hanging onto him and refuse to let go?’
Natasha’s voice was cold as she said, “You’re overthinking it. That day was an accident. I had something come up and couldn’t make it. Honestly, I wish I could go to City Hall with you tomorrow and get this divorce done.”
Percy was stunned.
He could hear the resolve in Natasha’s voice.
She wasn’t just saying it. She meant every word.
Percy couldn’t shake the feeling that Natasha was different now.
But he couldn’t put his finger on what exactly she had changed.
Maybe Natasha didn’t like him as much as she used to.
Percy thought, ‘But honestly, I never give a damn about the feelings of Natasha, the Whittier family’s bastard daughter,
anyway.
‘All I ever want is to marry Joelle, the Whittier family’s true princess.
‘Now that Natasha is finally willing to let go and doesn’t care about me anymore, that is what I have wanted all along, isn’t it? ‘So why do I unexpectedly feel a bit disappointed inside?’
Percy pushed aside that strange feeling, his brows knitting together. “If you want a divorce, why did you suddenly cancel my credit cards tonight? What are you trying to pull?”
Natasha replied coldly, “I’m not trying to pull anything. I want you and Joelle to at least keep your affair on the down-low. We’re still married, remember?
“You’re out there flaunting her at a boutique, spending lavishly to impress her. Aren’t you afraid someone will catch you on camera, and you’ll have to answer to both the Whittier and Grosso families?”
After all, Natasha was the one who married into the Grosso family, not Joelle.
Joelle and Percy showing off together like that wasn’t just humiliating for Natasha. It was a slap in the face to both the Whittier and Grosso families.
If the Milford family, Joelle’s current husband’s family, got pissed because of this, things could get really ugly.
Percy went silent on the other end of the line.
He knew perfectly well that until he officially became the Grosso family’s heir, nobody could know about anything between him and Joelle.
Especially not the parents from either family.
If anyone found out, both he and Joelle would be in deep trouble.
He never thought Natasha would catch him out with Joelle at the boutique tonight.
Percy’s gaze darkened suddenly as he said, “How did you find out? Did you hire a private investigator to spy on me?”
Natasha scoffed, her lips curling into a sneer. “Don’t flatter yourself. I don’t have the time or money to waste on a private investigator. If you don’t want people to find out, you may not parade around together like it’s a show.
“You two are so obvious. Someone is bound to catch you sooner or later.”
