At night, Natasha lay in bed. The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.

Percy was out there, acting like a couple with Joelle for everyone to see.

She’d caught them red-handed, and she hadn’t even demanded an explanation from them yet.

But instead, Percy turned around and demanded an explanation from her.

‘Is he this brazen about having an affair now?’ Natasha thought, her anger boiling over.

If it weren’t for the fact that she could finally divorce him at City Hall tomorrow, Natasha would’ve been so furious she might’ve had a nervous disorder attack.

Thinking about how she’d run out of her meds for her nervous disorder and hadn’t even had a chance to ask Jared for more, Natasha’s headache got even worse.

Natasha desperately tried to convince herself not to get angry.

But she was so pissed off that she couldn’t sleep, so she lay there scrolling through her phone.

To her surprise, a new message popped up.

It was from Lizzie.

[I’m back from overseas. I brought you a present. How about dinner tomorrow night?]

Natasha hadn’t talked to Lizzie in ages.

She hadn’t even realized Lizzie had gone abroad.

But Natasha knew Lizzie had a thing for Jared.

She figured Lizzie probably wanted her help chasing after Jared again.

Before, Natasha would’ve helped without a second thought.

But now, she and Jared had crossed that line.

Their relationship wasn’t what it used to be.

Natasha couldn’t help Lizzie chase after Jared anymore.

She actually had plans. After work, she’d be heading to City Hall with Percy to get their divorce papers signed.

But Lizzie jumped at the chance and asked: [Can you help me ask Jared out?]

Lizzie: [Come on, Nat. You’re my best friend. Can’t you figure out a way to help me ask your boss out? Just help me this once. I’ll totally owe you, and I promise I’ll pay you back double.]

Natasha honestly didn’t care if Lizzie owed her a favor or not.

The real problem was that Jared had been pestering her lately, trying to make her one of his women.

Natasha had no intention of becoming his plaything.

But she couldn’t seem to turn him down.

Natasha thought, ‘If Lizzie, the number one socialite in town, becomes Jared’s official girlfriend, maybe he’ll finally lose interest in me.

‘He’ll probably stop chasing after me for good.’

After weighing her options, Natasha suggested: [Why don’t you come to the office and ask him out in person tomorrow? He wouldn’t dare say no to you face-to-face.]

Lizzie lit up. [That’s a great idea. I’ll show up at your office and talk to him tomorrow.]

Natasha left the chat with Lizzie.

To her surprise, Jared had also texted her: [Are you asleep?]

Natasha pretended she hadn’t seen it and kept browsing other pages.

At Sky One Club, Jared was hanging out in a VIP suite with a few other young heirs, all drinking together.

Everyone else was gathered around playing cards, while Jared sat alone in the corner, glued to his phone.

After dropping Natasha off at home, Nicolas dragged Jared out to Sky One Club for drinks.

But Jared wasn’t in the mood to socialize with the others.

He kept staring at his phone, scrolling through his chat history with Natasha over and over again.

He wanted to text her, but he was afraid he might be bothering her if she was already asleep.

Now that she’s living alone, she must have left her old home behind.

‘Is she actually thinking about divorcing Percy?’ Jared thought to himself.

Jared felt a wave of frustration wash over him.

Finally, he worked up the nerve to text Natasha.

Then he leaned back on the couch, puffing on his cigar, waiting for Natasha’s reply.

But his message was like tossing a stone into a lake, no ripples.

Natasha stayed completely silent.

‘Maybe she’s already asleep? She’s calling it a night so soon?’ Jared thought.

While Jared was still speculating, Nicolas suddenly asked, “Hey, where’s Raphael tonight?”

Algernon, cigarette hanging from his lips, replied, “He’s been chasing after some married woman lately. Probably busy plotting to become her side guy and steal her away. Like he’d have time to hang out with us.”

Nicolas was stunned.

“What? Is he actually trying to be someone’s side piece? Has he lost his mind?” Nicolas blurted out.

Everyone started mocking Raphael.

“Seriously, with Raphael’s looks and cash, he could get any girl he wants. Why go after a married woman?” one of them

scoffed.

“Guess he thinks messing with a married woman means less drama when he dumps her,” another guy chimed in. “Yeah, since she’s married, she won’t expect Raphael to stick around or take responsibility,” another guy snickered.

The rest of the group all smirked knowingly.

“Raphael’s a real player,” someone laughed.

“Messing with a married woman means no strings attached. Unlike us, always getting hassled by women to commit,” another guy chimed in.

“Man, every girl I sleep with expects me to marry her. How am I supposed to handle that? Maybe I should do what Raphael’ s doing and hook up with a married woman for fun,” one guy joked.

“Not a bad idea…” another laughed.

“Enough!” Jared cut in sharply, his face icy.

The group of rich playboys who’d been cracking jokes instantly shut up.

Everyone glanced at Jared, who wore a stormy expression, baffled by his reaction.

None of them knew what they’d said wrong.

“What’s wrong, Jared?” Nicolas was the first to speak up.

Jared shot them a cold look. “How do you know Raphael’s just fooling around?”

The other guys looked at each other, baffled.

“If he’s not just playing around, are you saying Raphael actually wants to marry a married woman?” one of them snorted.

Jared’s face was icy. “What if he actually likes that married woman and wants to go after her for real? You guys are

supposed to be his friends, but instead of supporting him, you’re gossiping behind his back?

“Seriously, how did Oliver end up hanging out with a bunch of losers like you?”
