Natasha wasn’t oblivious to the way he was reacting to her.

Her pretty face blushed.

She shoved him away with all her strength.

Then she hurried off.

Natasha hurried back to her own office.

Natasha was gasping for breath, totally out of it.

She gently touched her lips, swollen from Percy’s kiss. For a moment, she zoned out, lost in her thoughts.

Then, snapping back to reality, she quickly packed up her things and left the company.

There was less than half an hour left before she was supposed to meet Percy.

This time, she was determined not to be late again.

But when she got back to the house she shared with Percy after their marriage, he wasn’t there.

Instead, she ran into Percy’s mom, Lily Grosso, her mother-in-law.

Lily was busy in the kitchen when Natasha walked in.

Thinking it was her son Percy, Lily eagerly came out of the kitchen.

“Percy, you’re back. I made you some soup…” Lily called out.

But when she saw it was Natasha instead, she looked surprised.

Lily’s expression changed completely in an instant.

“Oh, it’s you,” Lily said.

Lily looked visibly let down.

Natasha glanced at Lily, who was decked out in designer clothes, looking even more fashionable than Natasha herself. Her face was so well cared for that one couldn’t tell her age at all.

A bit surprised, Natasha asked without thinking, “Lily, what are you doing here?”

Ever since Lily and Percy were welcomed back into the Grosso family, Lily’s status had skyrocketed. Thanks to her son, she was now enjoying all the perks of high society, living the pampered life of the rich and powerful.

These days, her main focus was mingling with the city’s elite wives, doing everything she could to make sure the privileged life she and Percy had clawed their way into didn’t slip away.

Lily sat down on the couch with a long face.

“Come over here, I need to have a word with you,” she beckoned Natasha over.

Even though Natasha was reluctant, she still walked over, not wanting to but having no choice.

“Lily, if you have something to say, say it,” Natasha said.

Natasha knew Lily never came by without a reason. If she were here, it had to be something big.

Lily didn’t beat around the bush. “Fine, I’ll get straight to the point. When are you and Percy planning to give me a grandchild?”

\ Percy’s older brother had been struggling with a chronic illness for years and was unable to father children.

Clayton, the Grosso patriarch, had long since stopped expecting his eldest son to carry on the family line.

If Percy could have a child soon, it would definitely earn Clayton’s approval.

It wasn’t out of the question for Percy to be chosen as the Grosso family heir, taking his brother’s place.

Natasha’s gaze turned somber, her eyes clouded over.

She stayed quiet for a while, lost in her thoughts.

Then she finally spoke up, “Lily, I can’t help with that.”

Lily looked genuinely puzzled. “How could you not be able to help with this? You’re Percy’s wife. Who else could be qualified to give him a child except you?”

Natasha let out a sigh.

She took the initiative to brew a pot of coffee for Lily.

“Honestly, Lily, Percy and I have never slept together since we got married,” Natasha said softly.

Lily’s eyes widened in disbelief. “You’re not joking with me, are you?”

She thought, ‘Percy has been married for over a year now.

‘Not once in all that time? I can’t believe they haven’t even shared a bed.

‘How could that be?’

Lily’s gut reaction was that Natasha had to be making this up.

‘She can’t even get pregnant herself, and now she’s trying to shift the blame onto my son?’ Lily fumed inwardly.

Natasha scoffed. “Why would I ever joke about something this important? If you don’t believe me, you can ask Percy yourself.”

Lily’s eyes narrowed in suspicion.

Even though she hadn’t believed Natasha at first, after hearing that, she was pretty much convinced.

If Natasha was bold enough to tell her to ask Percy directly, it must be true.

Besides, Lily knew all too well that Percy had always wanted Joelle, not Natasha.

But she never imagined that even after tying the knot, Percy still wouldn’t move on.

He still hadn’t even been with Natasha, not once.

‘Is he seriously waiting for Joelle to divorce and marry him?’ Lily thought.

Lily’s face fell. “I’ll make sure to talk to him about this. Don’t worry, I’ve got your back. Just concentrate on preparing for a baby, and leave everything else to me.”

Natasha could tell Lily was still focused on her getting pregnant, just so she could finally have a grandchild.

Natasha decided to lay it all out. “Didn’t Percy tell you? We’re about to get divorced.”

Lily was stunned all over again.

“What did you just say? You’re getting divorced?” Lily blurted out.

Now that Natasha had said this much, she saw no reason to keep anything else from Lily.

“Actually, Percy and I were supposed to go to City Hall together to get our divorce papers signed today,” she said, her voice steady.

Lily exploded with anger.

“Divorce is such a huge deal, and you two didn’t even bother to discuss it with the family? You just went ahead and made the decision yourselves?” she snapped.

Natasha said, “We probably should have talked it over with the family first, and I admit that was wrong of us. But divorce is between Percy and me. Lily, I hope you won’t interfere. Please let us make our own decisions.”

Lily’s expression soured.

Truth be told, the last thing she wanted was for Percy to get divorced at this point.

Now that the Grosso family’s eldest son didn’t have much time left, Percy was on the verge of taking his place and being named the new heir of the Grosso family.

If he got divorced at such a critical moment, it would only create unnecessary complications.

That would surely displease Clayton.

Lily didn’t want Percy to take a wrong step now.

Lily said coldly, “You should know by now. Your marriage to Percy was a family alliance. Whether you two get divorced or not isn’t your decision to make.

“And just so you know, my son is bound to inherit the Grosso family fortune sooner or later. For someone like you, the daughter of a mistress, marrying into our family is already more than you could ever hope for.”

Natasha replied calmly, “It’s not just me who wants out. Percy wants a divorce as much as I do. If he didn’t, why would he go all this time without ever even sharing a bed with me?”

Lily knew deep down that Percy was definitely at fault here.

But then again, Natasha was the illegitimate daughter of a mistress. Honestly, marrying Percy was already more than Natasha could ever hope for.
