Chapter 127 Acting Like a Stranger

Chapter 127 Acting Like a Stranger

On the flight back, Natasha and Jared were seated in first class, and they were the only passengers in the entire first-class cabin.

A tranquil silence enveloped them.

Natasha closed her eyes, settling back in her seat, ready to drift off.

All of a sudden, she felt her whole body lift off the seat…

Jared had lifted her into his arms.

“What are you doing?” Natasha blurted out, startled.

When she opened her eyes, she realized she was firmly held on Jared’s lap.

Her delicate body was completely buried in his embrace.

“Don’t move. Just let me hold you,” Jared whispered in her ear.

He gently swept her long hair aside and started teasing her earlobe with his lips and tongue.

Natasha couldn’t stop herself from trembling all over.

“Stop it…” she whispered, her voice shaky.

‘This is first class!’ she thought, her heart racing. ‘He’s really crossing the line!’

But Jared ignored her, his hand sliding boldly beneath her shirt.

“Why’s your heart racing?” Jared asked.

Natasha shot him an annoyed look. “Isn’t it all because of you?”

“Are you nervous?” Jared grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Worried I’ll have my way with you right here on the plane?”

Natasha turned to him, her expression serious. “I slept with you, so we’re square now. From here on out, we’re done, no strings attached.”

Jared frowned, clearly displeased.

‘No strings attached, huh?’ he scoffed inwardly. ‘So she really wants nothing to do with me?

‘So last night was just payback for me? Was that all it meant?’

His eyes grew even darker. “Are you really not going to reconsider what I suggested before?”

Natasha shot him a wary look. “What suggestion?”

Jared’s gaze lingered on her cheeks, still rosy from his intimate attentions.

She was even more stunning after last night, her beauty practically glowing.

“Divorce your husband and be with me,” Jared said. “I swear, I’ll treat you better-”

Before Jared could finish, Natasha turned him down, her tone urgent. “No…”

‘No way am I going to be his lover, just another toy for him to mess with, Natasha thought, her heart full of resistance.

But Jared got it all wrong, thinking she refused because she couldn’t bear to leave her husband.

His handsome face suddenly fell, and a groundless jealousy stirred within him.

‘Does she really care that much about that loser husband of hers?’ Jared wondered. ‘After everything we’ve done together, she still won’t leave him?’

As if to vent his frustration, Jared narrowed his eyes, gripped her chin, and crushed her lips with a fierce bite.

Natasha cried out in pain and instinctively struggled in his arms, “Let me go!”

Jared leaned in, his voice dangerously low in her ear. “Keep moving like that, and I can’t promise I won’t have my way with you right here on the plane.”

Natasha could feel just how aroused he was, and her ears burned with shame.

She glared at him, mortified and angry, but didn’t dare budge.

Jared closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down.

He barely managed to cool himself off before finally letting her go, though he was clearly reluctant.

As soon as Natasha was free, she jumped off his lap immediately and darted to the farthest seat from him, afraid Jared

might pull something again.

Jared frowned instinctively when he saw how far she’d moved away from him.

‘She really treats me like some kind of wild beast,’ he thought, a bit exasperated. ‘Honestly, who was the one getting all the pleasure both times?

‘And who was the one clinging to me last night, begging me to go faster?

‘Hmph, what a heartless woman. The moment we’re done, she acts like she doesn’t even know me.’

Natasha just ignored Jared.

She closed her eyes and went to sleep.

When they got off the plane, Jared offered to take her home, but Natasha refused without hesitation.

She had no intention of getting involved with him again.

After all, her marriage wasn’t over yet, so keeping her distance from him was the safest bet.

Natasha was about to hop on the airport shuttle, but to her surprise, Jared gave up the business sedan that had come to pick him up for her use.

Before she left, he leaned in close and whispered in her ear, “Next time you want it, don’t forget to call me.”

Natasha’s expression froze for a second.

She knew exactly what he was hinting at.

‘Does he really think I’m that desperate?’ Natasha thought, feeling embarrassed and annoyed. ‘Or does he just think I can’t handle my attacks unless there’s a guy around?’

At this thought, she felt a pang of regret again.

‘Why didn’t I take the chance last night to ask Jared for the meds to help control my attacks?’ she scolded herself. ‘Without the meds, am I really going to have to turn to him again for relief next time?’

Natasha had just gotten back to her place at Oceanview International and hadn’t even had time to unpack her luggage when she received a phone call from her mother, Sandra.

“Mom, what’s wrong?” Natasha asked.

Sandra was sobbing uncontrollably on the other end of the line. “Your sister… She’s suddenly gone missing…”

Natasha felt a jolt of shock. ‘Joelle’s missing?’

“Why would she suddenly go missing out of the blue?” Natasha asked, baffled. “Did something happen?””

“Yes…” Sandra’s voice faltered, clearly holding something back.

She really couldn’t explain to Natasha the real reason behind Joelle’s disappearance.

Joelle left Whittier Manor that night after finding out the truth about her family, and she never returned.

Bernard had people searching everywhere for days, but there was still no trace of Joelle.

“It’s all because Nicolas suddenly filed for divorce. Joelle couldn’t handle the shock and walked out,” Sandra cried out this excuse, her tone tinged with a hint of blame.

Ever since Joelle disappeared, Sandra had been using that very excuse whenever she explained things to Bernard and Roxanne.

Everyone was so desperate to find Joelle that no one suspected a thing.

But before things got complicated, they had to track Joelle down as soon as possible.

“Mom, don’t worry. If I hear anything about Joelle, I’ll let you know as soon as I can,” Natasha reassured her.

“Nat, could you reach out to Nicolas? Maybe… ask him if he knows anything about Joelle’s whereabouts?” Sandra asked hesitantly.

“Okay!” Natasha replied.

She then hung up, frowning.
