Chapter 167 Another Woman Enters His House
Percy looked like he was sure Natasha was lying. He let out a cold snort. “Only you know what’s really going on in you
heart
!
Natasha saw how little he trusted her. She couldn’t be bothered to explan herself any further if that’s what you think then go ahead and think it she said.
She didn’t want to argue with him anymore. A brief stalemate hung in the air between them. Percy pressed her, refusing to drop the subject. “Are you ever going to give me back my handkerchief?
Natasha felt a wave of irritation. He didn’t trust her, and kept hounding her to give his things back
It’s already back where it belongs Natasha shot back. She licked her lips, her expression icy and aloof
“Back where it belongs? Percy repeated, a hint of doubt in his voice. He hesitated. Why do you keep insisting that the handkerchief isn’t Joelle’s?
Natasha met his gaze head-on. “Because I know who that handkerchief really belongs to.”
Percy was taken aback. He locked his gaze onto hers, searching for any sign of deception. But she didn’t look like she was lying at all.
Another suffocating silence hung between them. Percy reached out and seized Natasha’s wrist. “You’d better not be lying to me! His grip was tight, and his tone was threatening
Natasha frowned. “What would I get out of lying to you? I’m just telling you the truth.”
She had no intention of getting back together with Percy, nor did she care whether he ended up marrying Joelle. There was no point in wasting her time and energy just to lie to him.
Percy’s gaze darkened as he sized her up. Tell me, who does that handkerchief really belong to?”
Natasha opened her mouth, about to say, “Me.” But she caught herself just in time and said instead, “It belonged to an old schoolmate.
If she admitted it was hers, with Percy’s ego, he’d probably think she was hung up on their divorce and just looking for a reason to get back with him.
Percy’s brows furrowed slightly. “A classmate? Who exactly?
Natasha said, “A girl I used to go to school with. I saw Joelle grab that handkerchief from her right in front of me.”
Percy was stunned, standing there speechless for a moment.
So Joelle really snatched that handkerchief from someone else? he thought, unable to believe it. “No wonder Joelle just brushed it off when I mentioned the handkerchief before, he realized.
But that was just Natasha’s word, her own version of events. For all he knew, maybe she was just bitter about the whole divorce and wanted to stir things up between him and Joelle.
Percy wasn’t going to be fooled that easily.
Seeing Percy just stand there, silent and doubtful, Natasha knew he wasn’t really buying her story. She wasn’t expecting him to believe her anyway.
She’d made her point, whether he believed it or not, that was his call. Either way, there was no way she was ever giving that handkerchief back to him.
“You can let go of me now, can’t you? Natasha shot him a look, her tone cool and unbothered.
Percy blinked, coming back to his senses, and let go of her wrist. Percy fixed his hazel eyes on her, pressing, “What was your classmate’s name?”
Natasha shook her head. “It’s been ages, I honestly can’t remember. Maybe her last name was Gideon or something
Percy pressed, “Gideon… what was her name?”
Natasha furrowed her brow, looking like she was genuinely trying to remember. “I really can’t recall her full name, but I do remember she always wore yellow dresses, Natasha replied.
As soon as Natasha said that, Percy’s expression shifted dramatically. He seized her shoulders, staring her down with an intensity that made her uneasy. “Are you sure? She really liked wearing yellow dresses?”
Natasha nodded blankly, still a bit stunned. She’d just blurted it out without thinking, never expecting Percy to react so intensely.
Percy’s grip on her shoulders tightened, veins standing out on the backs of his hands. “Do you still keep in touch with her?”

As he asked, his eyes were full of hope. For once, it seemed like he actually believed her.
Natasha had no clue what Percy was thinking anymore, so she just said, “Not anymore.”
Percy’s mood sank, his expression growing somber. He slowly released her shoulders, his own drooping as he did.
He walked off, looking defeated. He didn’t bring up the handkerchief anymore.
Once he stepped outside, he pulled out his phone and made a call. “Look into Natasha’s circle, see if there’s any woman she went to school with whose last name is Gideon,” Percy instructed, his tone sharp.
“Yes, Mr. Percy!” came the reply on the other end.
Franklin acknowledged the order, then paused before reporting, “Mr. Brent’s condition has gotten much worse. Mr. and Mrs Grosso have been keeping vigil at his bedside these past few days. Honestly, it looks like he might not last much longer.
A sly glint flashed in Percy’s eyes. “Alright, I got it.”
Once Brent was out of the picture, Percy could finally step up as the Grosso family’s successor. At that point, he could get whatever he wanted.
Natasha lugged a few boxes she’d brought over from her old house into her new place. After cleaning up for a while, her phone buzzed with a new message out of nowhere.
Jared: [Come over.]
Natasha’s heart skipped a beat. ‘Already? Does he seriously want more this soon?’ she thought, a little exasperated. ‘Didn’t! tire him out enough yesterday?’
If this kept up, he’d have her running on fumes. She’d spent the whole day at her old place, packing up and moving boxes back to her new home. Right now, she was so exhausted she couldn’t even think about hooking up with him.
She was just about to grab her phone and shoot him a rejection. But then Jared sent another message: [You don’t want the medicine anymore?]
Natasha paused, caught off guard. Then she realized, he meant the medicine for her episodes. No way she could say no to
that.
She’d mentioned it a few times before, but Jared kept dragging his feet. Now, he was finally going to give her the medicine.
Natasha replied right away: [Okay.] She quickly changed clothes and headed out.
She’d just pulled up to Jared’s villa, not even out of the car yet. Just peering through the window, Natasha saw a woman standing by the front door. Her back and posture looked strangely familiar.
Natasha focused, trying to place her, and then realized it was Lizzie. ‘Lizzie actually showed up at Jared’s house?’ Natasha thought, surprised. ‘What’s their relationship?’
As Natasha was still puzzling over it, she saw Lizzie casually enter the code, like she’d done it a hundred times, and walk right in.
