Chapter 219 The Real Boss
Chapter 219 The Real Boss
Roxanne shot Natasha a glare, sharp enough to pierce right through her. It was as venomous as a needle.
“Take it off this instance. If you mess it up, you couldn’t afford to pay it!” Roxanne snapped. She knew all too well how broke Natasha was.
The dress cost way more than Natasha would ever spend.
Besides, Natasha was always the one giving in to Joelle in the Whittier family.
Since Roxanne was telling her to take it off, there was no way Natasha would refuse.
However, Natasha just looked up at Roxanne, not flinching. “Roxanne, I had my eye on this dress first. Unless I say I don’t want it, Joelle has no right to fight me for it.”
Roxanne was so shocked, she nearly lost her composure.
Natasha wasn’t even bothering to save her face anymore.
She dared to snatch something from Joelle openly.
‘Where did she get the nerve?’ Roxanne seethed inwardly.
“Natasha, you’re getting more and more out of line!” Roxanne warned, her voice cold.
But Natasha lifted her chin and shot back with a mocking tone, “So, you think I’m being disrespectful just because I won’t let Joelle push me around?”
“You!” Roxanne barked, her face twisted with anger.
She glared at Natasha, her face darkening with fury.
She immediately barked at the sales assistant next to her, “Get your store manager over here, now!”
Roxanne had often come there with her wealthy friends.
It wasn’t a top luxury brand, but it was a trendy affordable label that had been making waves lately.
It was a real hit among young socialites.
Of course, the store manager recognized who Roxanne was.
As soon as she saw Roxanne, she greeted her warmly. “Mrs. Whittier, what brings you here today?”
Roxanne skipped the pleasantries and pointed right at Natasha. “My daughter Joelle wants the dress she’s wearing.”
The manager immediately caught on and walked straight over to Natasha.
“Sorry, but this dress is already taken,” the manager said, her tone firm.
Natasha looked at her coolly. “And the reason is?”
The manager shot Roxanne a fawning glance. “Mrs. Whittier is one of our VIPs. She gets first dibs on everything in the store.”
Natasha arched an eyebrow. “Alright then, have her pay for it.”
The manager smiled politely. “So, would you mind taking off the dress?”
Natasha’s lips curled in defiance. “When I’ve had my fill, I’ll take it off myself.”
She knew Roxanne was just trying to throw her weight around.
But that day, she was done playing along. Roxanne wasn’t getting her way.
Everyone in the store was shocked. Natasha was being too daring right in front of them.
Seeing Natasha’s response, Roxanne was so mad, she was practically livid.
‘Natasha used to be nothing like this. She was always so quiet and obedient. She would never have stood up to me!’
Roxanne didn’t know what happened to Natasha. She was like a whole new person.
“Natasha, don’t make me regret being nice to you!” Joelle shouted, her voice sharp with anger.
Joelle was also furious. She couldn’t help but raise her voice.
But Dorothy gave Natasha a thumbs-up, totally rooting for her.
Just then, the store owner, Emery Todd, hurried in, his steps brisk.
“Mr. Todd, what brings you here?” the manager asked, her voice dripping with flattery as she hurried over.

She flashed him a fawning smile, practically tripping over herself to greet him.
But Emery walked right past her, heading deeper into the store.
“So, you’re the boss here?” Roxanne cut him off, blocking his path with a haughty glare.
She swaggered in front of him, chin held high and attitude to match.
“Yeah, that’d be me,” Emery replied.
“Good that you’re here,” Roxanne said, her voice full of authority. “I’m a VIP at this store, and I want that dress she’s wearing. But she refuses to take it off for me!”
Dorothy shot back, refusing to back down. “We picked it out first, and Nat’s already got it on. Why should she hand it over just because you’re a VIP? So what if you’ve got money? Ever heard of ‘early bird gets the worm’? Quit pretending you’re some big-shot socialite!”
Emery frowned. “What’s going on here?”
The store manager hurried over, head down and respectful. “Mr. Todd, let me fill you in…”
She gave him the rundown, explaining everything from start to finish.
She was hoping he had a way to make Natasha hand over the dress.
If that didn’t work, she was about ready to call the cops.
“Understood.” Emery nodded.
Without hesitation, he suddenly strode over to Natasha.
No one saw this coming. But Emery actually gave Nat a respectful bow.
“I’m so sorry for everything that just happened. Please accept my deepest apologies,” he said, his voice earnest and full of respect.
Roxanne and Joelle were both completely dumbfounded.
‘Did he get the wrong person?’ they both wondered.
They couldn’t believe he was apologizing to Natasha.
Even Natasha was a bit shocked herself. She couldn’t believe the manager was treating her with so much respect.
‘Did he mistake me for someone else?’ she wondered.
The store manager thought the same thing.
She quickly stepped forward to correct him. “Mr. Todd, these two are Joelle and Roxanne Whittier.”
But Emery didn’t even hesitate. He pointed right at her and said, “You’re fired!”/
The store manager was totally floored, her face pale with shock. “What? Mr. Todd, please. What did I do wrong?”
Emery snapped, “You overstepped your place!”
The store manager looked totally clueless. “But when did I ever step out of line?”
Emery shot back, “You were disrespectful to the boss. Isn’t that crossing the line?”
“The boss?” the manager echoed, her eyes wide in disbelief.
Even Roxanne and Joelle were totally dumbfounded by what they just heard.
Emery announced with utmost respect, “Natasha is the new owner of our brand!”
Everyone was so shocked, they thought they were hearing things.
Even Natasha was left wondering if she had heard that right.
Emery made a respectful gesture, inviting her forward. “Ms. Whittier, my sincerest apologies. We didn’t realize you were visiting today. We truly failed to give you the welcome you deserve. Please, have a seat!”
Natasha was so stunned, she could barely process what she’d just heard.
‘Since when did I become the new owner of the TF brand? Is this a joke?’ she wondered, her head spinning.
But it wasn’t the time to freeze up. Might as well play along and roll with it.
She gave Roxanne and Joelle a quick look, cleared her throat, and said, “Alright.”
