Jared lifted his eyes and glanced at her. “Feel good?”

Natasha jerked her hand back like she’d been shocked. Her pretty face burned red. “Sorry.”

Jared looked at her with darkened eyes. His expression was lazy and amused. “You took the chance to sneak a feel. I’m the one who got touched, and I’m not even blushing. Why are you?”

Natasha’s mind buzzed loudly. She explained, “I didn’t mean to touch you.”

Natasha had only been trying to get off his lap in a hurry. But the more flustered she got, the more things went wrong.

Jared raised an eyebrow. His gaze carried a deeper meaning. He whispered, “It’s not like this is the first time anyway. Every if you did it on purpose, it wouldn’t matter.”

Jared spoke so close to Natasha that the heat of his breath brushed over her skin.

Natasha couldn’t help but tremble all over. Like a startled cat, she instantly jumped off his lap.

‘My condition isn’t even better yet. How can I handle him flirting like this?’ Natasha murmured.

But she moved too quickly. Her head slammed into the roof of the car.

Natasha cried out in pain and covered her head. Then she dropped right back onto his lap again.

A low, hoarse groan escaped from the man beneath her.

Now even the tips of Natasha’s ears turned bright red. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest.

Natasha tried to get off him again. But this time Jared didn’t allow it.

“Don’t move.” His hand tightened around her waist. His voice was low and restrained.

“But…” Natasha’s cheeks burned, her voice faltering as she struggled to get the words out.

She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Should I really be sitting on his lap like this? Isn’t this way too much?’

When Natasha had fallen onto him just now, Jared had almost lost control.

The desire that had been buried inside him for a long time was stirred up again by her.

‘This woman always knows how to make me lose control; Jared muttered.

His grip around her waist tightened suddenly. He leaned close to her ear and warned in a deep voice, “Move again and see what happens. Believe it or not, I might just take you right here in the car.”

Natasha’s mind went completely blank.

They were both adults. Natasha knew he wasn’t joking. His body’s reaction was very real.

Unless she truly wanted something to happen between them, the smartest thing to do right now was to stay still on his lap.

Soft rustling sounds came from the back seat. Soon, everything grew quiet again.

But the atmosphere inside the car became even more intimate.

The driver in the front gripped the steering wheel tightly. He didn’t dare glance back and sat stiffly in his seat.

When the car finally stopped at the entrance of Natasha’s apartment complex, she quickly stood up and tried to get out.

But the arm around her waist didn’t move at all.

Natasha had no choice but to remind him. “Mr. Rundell, we’re here.”

Jared looked at her like a man used to being in control of everything. He said calmly, “Come to the office tomorrow.” Natasha froze. “My vacation isn’t over yet.”

After the overseas project ended last time, Natasha had taken several days off. She had only used half of them. Jared’s eyes were deep and unreadable. “There’s a new assignment. End your leave early. You’ll get the rest later.” In truth, the task could have been given to someone else.

The real reason Jared wanted her to return early was that he missed her. He wanted to see her as soon as possible. Jared didn’t know what had been wrong with him lately. He wanted to see Natsha all the time.

When he couldn’t see Natasha, Jared missed her even more. When he did see her, he wanted to hold her and kiss her. It felt like Jared was losing his mind.

“Alright,” Natasha said with a nod.

The moment she agreed, Jared released her.

Natasha quickly pushed the door open and got out of the car.

When Jared watched her flee like she was escaping, his eyes darkened.

His palm still seemed to remember the soft warmth of her waist.

These days, when Jared slept at night, he often dreamed about grabbing Natasha’s waist and pinning her down on the bed. Every time he woke up from those dreams, he could only stumble to the bathroom for a cold shower.

Sometimes, even a cold shower didn’t do a damn thing.

Many nights, Jared couldn’t fall back asleep at all. All he could think about was her.

Especially during the past few days when Natasha hadn’t come to work. Not seeing her made the longing even stronger. Jared’s gaze fell on the suit jacket lying on the floor of the car. It was the one he had draped over Natasha earlier.

He reached down with his long fingers and picked it up.

Then he held it in front of him. Her faint scent still lingered on the fabric.

Jared inhaled deeply. The desire in his eyes almost spilled over.

As soon as Natasha arrived home, Sandra called.

Natasha explained that she wasn’t feeling well and had left the wedding reception early to come home.

She didn’t tell Sandra that Collin had sold her out and that Gordon had almost assaulted her.

Natasha knew very clearly that her position in Sandra’s heart could never compare to Collin’s.

Even though Sandra had raised Natasha herself, while Collin had been given to Roxanne to raise right after he was born.

But if Sandra hadn’t given birth to a son like Collin, Bernard would never have given her any status in the family.

Roxanne always hated them, but the only reason Natasha and Sandra were allowed to stay in the Whittier family all these years was because of Collin.

Sandra had always been proud of having a son like Collin. From childhood to now, she and Roxanne had both spoiled him terribly.

Even when he bullied Natasha, Sandra would pretend not to see it.

Sometimes Sandra would even scold Natasha instead and ask why she had provoked Collin and gotten herself bullied.

Natasha knew very well where she stood in Sandra’s heart and in the Whittier family.

Even if she told Sandra about tonight, her mother wouldn’t stand up for her.

Sandra might even scold her and ask her to apologize to Collin. So it was better to avoid the trouble.
