Chapter 29 Yacht Party

Chapter 29 Yacht Party

Jared stared straight at her with his eyes. “Then if I ask you to come to my place tonight, would you go?”

Natasha’s mind buzzed loudly, like something had exploded inside it.

She wondered, “He wants me to go to his house tonight? What does that mean?’

Natasha parted her red lips, about to say something. Just then, Jared’s phone rang.

He answered it. A familiar male voice came through the speaker. “Yacht party tonight. Don’t forget to show up.

“Not going.” Jared refused without hesitation.

Nicolas sounded annoyed. “Seriously? Again? I’ve asked you like ten times lately and you never come. What’s going on with you?”

Jared replied in a low, serious tone, “I’ve been busy with work. No time for that. You just got married. Maybe you should behave a little.”

Nicolas snorted. “It’s not like I wanted to get married anyway. And honestly, Joelle and I don’t get along at all. If she cant handle it, she should just ask for a divorce herself.”

Natasha stood very close to Jared. She heard almost everything in the call.

She thought, ‘So Nicolas never wants to marry Joelle at all. No wonder he disappears right after the wedding.

‘And he’s probably hoping Joelle gets fed up and divorces him first.’

Jared hung up and looked back at her.

Natasha had been lost in her thoughts when she suddenly felt a burning gaze on her again.

She looked up and met Jared’s deep eyes. Their eyes locked.

Natasha suddenly remembered what he had said earlier. ‘Wait, did he really just invite me over tonight?’ she thought.

She was still struggling with how to answer when Jared had already turned away.”

He walked back to his desk and pressed the intercom to ask his secretary to order lunch.

Natasha finally let out a long breath of relief.

The moment Natasha returned to Whittier Manor, she heard Joelle shouting angrily upstairs.

Since the wedding, Nicolas hadn’t contacted her for a full week.

Joelle had stormed back to Whittier Manor in rage. She smashed everything in her room.

Her whole body seemed filled with violent fury.

Joelle had been spoiled by her parents since childhood. There was no way she could accept such humiliation.

Both Roxanne and Sandra were upstairs, trying to comfort her. They were heartbroken for her.

Bernard paced anxiously back and forth in the room.

The entire manor was wrapped in a heavy and angry atmosphere.

Natasha couldn’t stand the mood in the house anymore. She went out to the garden alone for a walk.

When she had married Percy back then, her situation had been even worse than Joelle’s.

Both of them had been ignored by their husbands.

But Natasha, the unloved younger sister, had to quietly endure everything alone. No one in the family cared about her at all.

Now that it was Joelle’s turn, everything was different.

Not only were Roxanne, Sandra, and Bernard freaking out over her, even the servants were restless.

The whole Whittier family was in chaos. Everyone was concerned about the humiliation Joelle suffered at the Milford family.

‘The favoritism is painfully obvious, Natasha thought.

“Come somewhere with me tonight.” Collin suddenly wrapped an arm around her shoulders and walked over.

Natasha frowned immediately when she saw him. “What do you want this time?” she asked.

Natasha murmured, ‘Last time, he sold me out to Gordon. I haven’t even settled that score yet.

‘And seriously, he still has the nerve to show up in front of me?’

“Just come with me and you’ll find out,” Collin said firmly.

“No way,” Natasha shot back without hesitation.

Collin’s handsome face darkened. “You dare say no to me?”

Natasha looked at him cautiously. “You’re my brother, not my master. And who knows what kind of ‘good intentions’ you have this time?”

Collin looked annoyed. “What kind of talk is that? I’m your brother. Why would I hurt you?”

Natasha exposed him immediately. “Didn’t you hurt me last time? I almost got…”

“Last time I was tricked by Gordon,” Collin interrupted quickly. “He said he only wanted to talk to you. I didn’t know he’d try something on you. That one’s on me. I’m sorry.”

Natasha stared at him in shock. This was the first time Collin had ever apologized to her in her entire life.

Before, even when he had pushed her into the swimming pool and almost drowned her, Collin still blamed her for it. He said it was her fault for not knowing how to swim.

All her life, whenever Collin bullied her, he acted like it was completely justified.

‘Collin apologizing? That’s a first, Natasha thought.

“But I heard Jared saved you that night. And he even took you away with him?” Collin suddenly leaned closer, curiosity flashing in his eyes. “How do you know Jared?”

Natasha looked at him suspiciously. “He’s my boss. Why?”

Collin smiled in a strange way. “Simple. If you come with me tonight, I’ll let the past go. But if you refuse, I’ll tell Mom and Dad that on Joelle’s wedding night, you went to a hotel with your boss.”

Natasha couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She shot back, “What nonsense are you talking about? Jared and I are just boss and employee.”

Collin raised an evil eyebrow. “I can say whatever I want. You can’t stop me. But guess who Mom and Dad will believe. You or me?”

Natasha clenched her teeth in anger. ‘He’s clearly framing me on purpose and forcing me to obey him.’

Under the night sky, a luxurious yacht was anchored on the sea.

Inside the spacious main hall on the first deck, a group of wealthy young men gathered together, drinking and laughing.

Jared had been bombarded with several calls from Nicolas before finally coming. Now, he sat on the sofa with a dark expression, ignoring everyone while drinking alone.

“Hey, Jared. Since you’re already here, come join us,” Nicolas said as he walked over.
