Chapter 306 Is She His Girlfriend Now?
Joan was still smiling at her. But there was a trace of defiance in her smile, and her tone was downright cocky.
Natasha was stunned for a moment before she realized what was going on.
Percy wasn’t here now. She didn’t have to keep up the act anymore. She could just be herself again. Truth was, Joan had never liked Natasha; not even a little.
“I told you before, we’re not close. So please, stop calling me,” Natasha said coldly.
Joan shrugged. “Well, what can I do? You’re Percy’s ex, and I’m the one he’s with now.” She deliberately emphasized “the one he’s with now,” clearly showing off her superiority.
Natasha felt totally disgusted by her. But she kept her mouth shut; she didn’t even want to deal with Joan
Natasha spun around and walked off. She walked up to the full-length mirror and took a good look at the outfit she had on.
Soon enough, Joan’s reflection showed up in the mirror again. “This brand’s pretty expensive, isn’t it? Now that you’re divorced from Percy, are you sure you can even afford it? Want me to cover it for you?” she said with a mocking tone.
She shot Natasha a condescending look, making it clear she thought she was way above her. Natasha forced herself to swallow her irritation.
‘Gosh, this woman just can’t keep her mouth shut, Natasha thought.
“If you’ve got so much of Percy’s money to burn, maybe spend some on getting your bad breath treated,” Natasha shot back.
“You!” Joan glared at Natasha, her eyes blazing with anger.
Just then, a sales assistant walked over and asked, “Can I help you with anything?”
Joan pointed at Natasha and said, “I’ll take the one she’s got on!”
The sales assistant looked surprised. “Um, that might be a problem. She’s already wearing it.”
Josn asked arrogantly, “Has she paid for it yet?”
The sales assistant shook her head. “No.”
Joan announced with a smug grin, “Since she’s only trying it on and can’t even pay for it, I’ll just take it off her hands right
now!”
The sales assistant glanced at Natasha, visibly uncomfortable.
Dorothy finally had enough and marched over, snapping, “Don’t you know the rule, first-come, first-served when shopping? Natasha tried it first, and she hasn’t even decided if she wants it yet. It’s not your turn!”
Joan shot back, “I’m taking it; who are you to stop me?”
Dorothy was so furious that she wanted to give Joan a good slap across the face. ‘Seriously, what’s wrong with this woman?’ Dorothy thought.
Joan was totally two-faced. Whenever Percy was around, she’d play the helpless damsel, acting all sweet and clingy. But as soon as she was alone with Natasha, she instantly switched to full-on villain mode.
‘What a hypocrite, Dorothy thought, rolling her eyes.
“Fine,” Natasha said, not wanting to waste another second on her. “If she wants it, she can have it after I take it off,” Natasha said.
Honestly, she didn’t really care about the outfit anyway. Natasha made a beeline for the fitting room and quickly slipped out of the outfit. She just wanted to leave the store and avoid any more drama with Verena.
But the moment Natasha came out of the dressing room, Joan was right there, standing in her way. “Why’d you take it off? Guess I was right, huh? You really can’t afford it?” she sneered.
She took the chance to mock Natasha. “Makes sense. A divorced woman, no longer under her husband’s protection, should really watch her spending. After all, once you burn through your divorce settlement, there won’t be anything left for you!”
She made sure to shout the word “divorced” extra loud. Like she wanted everyone in the store to know. Now everyone in the store was giving Natasha all kinds of looks
“Shut up!” Dorothy snapped, her voice sharp ar

Joan scoffed, “You think I’ll shut up just because you say so? She’s a divorced woman nobody wants; I’m just telling it like

Chapter 306 Is She His Girlfriend Now? it is!”
She pointed at Natasha in contempt, loudly making sure everyone in the store knew Natasha was a divorced woman nobody wanted.
“Miss Simonds, I honestly have no idea why you’re so hostile toward me, but could you at least try to be respectful?” Natasha shot back, her eyes blazing with anger.
She’d been putting up with Joan’s crap for way too long, and she was about to lose it.
“Don’t go thinking you’re hot stuff just because you managed to marry Percy! Percy never loved you, not even once. From start to finish, the only one he’s ever cared about is me!” Joan sneered.
Natasha almost burst out laughing. She nearly cracked up, barely able to keep a straight face. “Girl, you sure have some. confidence!” Natasha said, her voice thick with sarcasm.
‘Did she really just say Percy’s heart belongs to her?’ Natasha thought, rolling her eyes. ‘Why does that sound so familiar?
‘Well, Joelle said the same thing once. But reality slapped her in the face not long after.’
Honestly, as far as Natasha was concerned, Percy only ever loved himself; never anyone else. He was a textbook narcissist, through and through. In his eyes, there was nobody but himself; everyone else might as well not exist.
“What are you laughing at?” Joan snapped, her voice sharp with irritation. To her, Natasha’s smile was especially grating right now. It was like Natasha was openly mocking her for being so full of herself.
Joan protested, not willing to back down, “Percy’s always had feelings for me! He even told me I’m the true love he’s been searching for all these years; the one he’s been waiting for!”
Natasha froze for a moment, caught off guard. ‘Did Percy really say that to her?’ Natasha wondered.
So Percy had already made up his mind that Joan was the girl behind the handkerchief. But honestly, Natasha was fine with that; it meant Percy wouldn’t be messing with her anymore.
“Congrats, I guess,” Natasha said, keeping her voice cool and steady.
Honestly, Natasha thought Joan really did deserve those congratulations. Joan picked up Percy, that scumbag; he was her problem now.
Now Natasha wouldn’t have to deal with that loser holding her back anymore. Honestly, that was a win for her.
Joan looked even more full of herself, practically bursting with smugness. She really thought she was hot stuff now.
“Glad you get it. Let me make this clear: stay away from Percy from now on,” Joan snapped, her tone icy and full of warning. She acted like she was on high alert, as if Natasha might try to steal Percy back at any second.
Natasha was this close to rolling her eyes right out of her head.
Joan acted like Percy was the hottest thing around. Seriously, it was like she couldn’t wait to get her hands on him. Still clinging to him for dear life, even after the divorce.
“Look, Percy, and I are divorced. Whatever he does from now on is his problem, not mine.” Natasha rolled her eyes. Then she turned and walked away.
