Chapter 307 Show Some Respect

Chapter 307 Show Some Respect

Natasha felt an inexplicable sense of security wash over her, as if out of nowhere. It was a calming, warm force that settled

her heart.

“Are you okay?” Jared suddenly leaned down, his eyes fixed on her.

Natasha shook her head. It was just that the spot where Joan had pinched her still hurt. She could feel the skin had broken and was bleeding a little.

Seeing how much Jared cared about Natasha, Joan felt a wave of anxiety and uncertainty wash over her. If Natasha really was Jared’s girlfriend, she was doomed.

After all, Jared was a big shot; she couldn’t afford to cross him. “Mr. Rundell, how could she possibly be your girlfriend?” Joan couldn’t help but question.

Jared turned and shot her a look. “What, you got a problem with that?”

Of course, Joan wouldn’t dare object. She was so scared that her whole body went rigid.

Joan had always assumed that after Natasha was dumped by Percy, she would end up living a miserable life. No one had expected her to land someone like Jared.

Whether she knew who Jared was hardly mattered. He was notorious for keeping his distance from women, a true boss among bosses. Countless beautiful women had tried to get close to him, yet not a single one had ever made him budge.

But Jared had actually chosen Natasha, even after her divorce. It was truly unexpected.

Jessica shot Natasha a look, torn between confusion and disbelief. She gave Natasha a once-over, checking her out from head to toe. It was like she was trying to figure out what made Natasha so special that a boss-level guy like Jared would

notice her.

Jared noticed Natasha wasn’t saying anything, her eyes fixated on her injured wrist. He realized her skin had been peeled from the pinch, thin streaks of blood oozing out.

“Does it hurt?” Jared asked softly, his voice gentle and caring. His gaze softened as he watched her.

“I’m fine!” Natasha said, trying to sound unfazed. ‘Yeah, it stings a bit, but it’s nothing I can’t handle, she thought, clenching.

her teeth.

“Let’s go, I’ll take you to the hospital,” Jared said, not giving Natasha any room to protest. Not hesitating, he slipped his arm

around her and headed out.

He paused as they walked past Joan. He turned to Joan, who looked startled, and said, “From now on, be more polite when you talk to my girlfriend. If you try this again, you won’t get away with it.”

Joan broke out in a cold sweat, nodding frantically. Jared added, “Watch your man. Don’t let him come bothering my

woman again.”

Jessica stood frozen, completely dumbfounded. ‘Is Jared seriously telling me to go relay this to Percy?’ Joan thought, her mind racing. ‘Could Percy really still be pestering Natasha?

‘No way, she told herself. ‘Didn’t he say I was the one he’d been searching for all along?’ Joan thought, her thoughts spinning in confusion.

Jared had his arm around Natasha as he walked her out of the store. Dorothy followed right behind them.

Natasha pulled herself out of Jared’s embrace. “Seriously, I’m fine. You head back first; I’m gonna stick around and shop. with my friend for a while.”

Jared glanced at Dorothy. Dorothy caught on immediately. “Nat, just remembered I have something to do. I’ll head out first,”

she said.

She hurriedly said goodbye to Natasha and turned to leave. Natasha didn’t even get a chance to stop her.

‘Seriously, I only feel one thing right now, Natasha complained inwardly. ‘My bestie just set me up; she basically delivered me straight to him.’

Natasha knew Dorothy was totally trying to set her un with Jared But honestly, there was no way things would ever work out between her and Jared.

And Harley and Jared had been locked in a power struggle for ages. If she joined Whittier Group, she’d inevitably end u helping the Whittier family.

And helping the Whittier family basically meant backing Harley to take on Jared. Any chance of her and Jared ever working out was gone for good.

Just as Natasha was lost in thought, Jared suddenly spoke from above her. “I’ve already booked us a table at a restaurant. Let’s go grab a bite together,” he said.

Natasha hesitated. But Jared had already slipped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her along.

When they got close to his car, Natasha pushed him away. “No, thanks. I’m not really hungry right now,” she said, trying to brush it off with a quick excuse, politely turning him down.

“Alright, we’ll wait until you’re hungry, then we’ll eat,” Jared said, making it clear he wasn’t about to leave her alone.

Natasha gave him a resigned look. She couldn’t deny the happiness she felt inside, because being around him stirred up so many memories.

Deep down, she still longed for the tenderness they once had. But she couldn’t. Now that she knew it was hopeless, she couldn’t let herself get in any deeper.

Giving him a chance was just giving herself a chance, too. She knew she shouldn’t let herself get carried away any longer.

But she had to admit, Jared really had come to her rescue back there. If he hadn’t stepped in, Joan looked like she could’ve killed her right then and there.

“Thank you,” Natasha said, giving Jared a serious, heartfelt nod.

“That’s all?” Jared arched an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes.

“What else do you want?” Natasha blinked at him, genuinely puzzled.

Jared didn’t miss a beat. “At least have dinner with me!”

Natasha was at a loss for words. ‘He still hasn’t given up on that dinner,’ Natasha thought, feeling a bit helpless.

But after all the times he’d asked and considering he really did save her today, she couldn’t bring herself to turn him down. She really ought to pay him back for what he did.

“Alright,” Natasha finally gave in.

Jared, thrilled, hugged her and ushered her into the car.

They arrived at a premium fine dining restaurant. The place was steeped in a romantic atmosphere, and romantic music drifted through the air.

As Natasha walked in with Jared, everyone in the restaurant treated them with the utmost respect. Even when she went to the restroom, the staff were so polite it was almost over the top.

She knew it was all because of Jared; they were showing him respect, not her. Whenever she was with Jared, people would always give her the VIP treatment, no matter where they went.

They took their seats at a private table, the atmosphere elegant and intimate. The waiter offered the menus with both hands, showing extra respect.

Jared nodded for Natasha to order first, then he’d make his own selection. Throughout the meal, Natasha stayed pretty aloof, keeping things cool and distant. She didn’t say much.

To anyone watching, it looked like she was just there to have a simple dinner with him, nothing more. Jared, calm and unhurried, kept talking to her throughout the meal, never rushing, always keeping the conversation going.

As the meal was winding down, Natasha finally looked up at him. “I… I’ve decided to go help out at Whittier Group,” she said.

Jared was momentarily taken aback, but honestly, he seemed like he’d expected it all along. “Okay,” he replied, his tone calm and steady.
