Chapter 308 Kidnapped
Chapter 308 Kidnapped
In the Milford Group CEO’s office, Natasha personally presented Nicolas with her resignation letter.
“knew you wouldn’t stay long, but I didn’t expect it to be this quick,” Nicolas said. He felt genuine regret.
He knew Natasha would leave. But he thought she’d end up joining Jared at the Rundell Group. He never expected her to ultimately choose the Whittier Group.
“Every party has to end eventually. Whether I leave early or late, everyone has to move on in the end,” Natasha said with a grin. “Thanks for looking out for me all this time.”
She’d learned a lot working with Nicolas at Milford Group. Without his support when the Whittier family and Harley tried to shut her out, she might never have become who she was.
She really was grateful to Nicolas. But now, it was time to say goodbye.
Nicolas didn’t give her a hard time. He signed off on her resignation agreement without hesitation, and he promised, “Ifyou ever need anything, my door’s always open.”
Natasha gave Nicolas a nod and offered him a firm handshake. Finally, she turned to leave.

As Natasha packed up her things and walked out of the Milford Group building, she couldn’t help but feel a mix of emotions swirling inside.
She never expected her career to take such a turn, leaving both companies in such a short time. And now, she was heading down the one road she’d always wanted to avoid.
She was about to start working at the Whittier Group. Even Natasha never thought she’d end up working for the Whittier Group; this was the last path she ever wanted to take.
Natasha stood by the curb, hugging her box, waiting for a ride.
A car slowly pulled up in front of her. It was tough to get a cab in the afternoon, so Natasha didn’t hesitate; she just opened the door.
She didn’t bother to check the license plate. She got in and told the driver where she was headed.
Leaning back in the taxi, Natasha’s mind wandered to the fact that she was about to report to the Whittier Group. From now on, she’d have to do something she really hated, but couldn’t avoid.
She rubbed her forehead. Natasha felt uneasy, like something just wasn’t right.
A sense that something big was about to happen settled over her. Natasha grew uneasy; something wasn’t right. The scenery outside the window slipped by, and none of it looked familiar.
Everything was getting stranger and stranger. This definitely wasn’t the way home.
‘What’s going on?’ Natasha wondered, her heart pounding in her chest. ‘Did I just get into a shady cab?’
“This isn’t the way to my house!” Natasha called out, her voice edged with alarm. Her delicate brows drew together as she leaned forward and raised her voice to the driver in the front.
But the driver completely ignored her, as if he hadn’t heard a word. He kept his eyes on the road and didn’t slow down for a second.
Natasha felt a chill; something was definitely off. No normal driver would ever just ignore her like that.
“Let me out of the car!” Natasha shouted at the driver, her voice rising with panic. She kept yelling, each cry louder than the last, hoping he would finally respond. But the driver ignored her, as if she weren’t there.
He kept his foot on the gas, not even slowing down. Panic set in for Natasha. The driver’s behavior made it clear; this was deliberate.
‘What is he trying to do?’ Natasha wondered, fear twisting in her gut.
“Who are you? What do you want from me?” Natasha shouted, her voice shaking with fear.
The driver fired off a stream of words in a dialect Natasha didn’t recognize. She couldn’t even tell where he was from, and she didn’t understand a word he said.
A tremor of fear ran through Natasha’s chest as cold sweat broke across her skin. She knew this wouldn’t work; he couldn’t just sit there and hope for the best.

After thinking it through, Natasha decided to jump out the car. Jumping out now was dangerous, but staying put was even riskier.

Chapter 308 Kidnapped
Natasha reached for the door handle on instinct, but it was locked tight. She pounded on it with her fists, desperate fora response, but the door didn’t budge.
Natasha’s heart was pounding, panic taking over her thoughts. She glanced out the window at the strange, unfamiliar streets, her breathing quick and shallow, her heart thumping wildly. ‘This can’t be good, she thought.
Now Natasha was sure; she’d gotten herself into a shady cab. She needed to figure out a way to get herself out of this
mess.
If jumping out wasn’t an option, she’d have to call the cops. Natasha quickly pulled out her phone and dialed 911. Thejcall connected almost instantly.
“Help! I’m in a shady cab… I’m being kidnapped!” Natasha cried out, her voice shaking with fear. She spoke incoherently, her words tumoring out in panic.
“Where are you right now?” the operator asked.
‘Where am I?’ Natasha wondered, panic flooding her mind.
She glanced out of the window again. The street outside was completely unfamiliar to her, and she had no idea where she
was.
‘How am I supposed to tell the cops where I am? How are they going to rescue me?’ Natasha thought, panic rising./
There was no way the driver up front was going to tell her anything.
But what really freaked Natasha out was that the driver clearly knew she was calling the cops, yet he didn’t even bat an eye; he just kept driving like nothing was happening.
‘Wasn’t this just way too creepy?’ she thought, her mind racing. ‘Could it be that he just doesn’t care if I call the cops at all? “Hey, miss? Where are you? Can you tell me exactly where you are right now?” The operator’s voice was urgent, pushing her for an answer.
“I… I don’t know where I am…” Natasha stammered, her voice shaking. Natasha was on the verge of tears, panic rising in
her chest.
Just then, Natasha saw the driver pull out a cigarette, light it up, and start smoking as if he didn’t have a care in the world. “Miss, if you don’t know where you are, we can’t help you!” The operator sounded frustrated. “Can you tell me if there are any landmarks around you?”
Natasha held her phone tightly and looked out the window. “I see maple trees lining the road, and there are farm fields everywhere…” Natasha said, her voice trembling.
‘This is literally the middle of nowhere,’ Natasha thought, her heart racing. ‘Why did this driver bring me all the way out here? What does he want with me?’
“Maple trees and farm fields aren’t really landmarks…” the operator reminded her, sounding a bit helpless.
Before Natasha could finish, the driver hit the brakes out of nowhere. Natasha was totally caught off guard and was thrown forward, crashing into the seat in front of her.
Her phone tumbled from her hand and landed on the floor. “Ouch!” Natasha cried out. Her head smacked right into the seat, making her see stars.
‘Gosh, that hurt!’ Natasha winced, pain shooting through her forehead. Her phone had already hit the floor, and the call was abruptly cut off; her lifeline gone in an instant.
Clenching her jaw against the throbbing pain, Natasha forced herself to crouch down, desperately reaching for her phone. But panic set in as she realized her strength was draining away, little by little.
