An Affair With The Ceo (Natasha and Jared) novel Chapter 317

Chapter 317 Forgive Him

Chapter 317 Forgive Him

Natasha and Percy were already divorced.

But the staff still called her “Mrs. Grosso.”

Apparently, that was Percy’s doing.

‘What is he up to?’ Natasha wondered.

Percy’s attitude toward her had completely flipped, and now he was even letting the staff call her that.

But right now, Natasha was hurting all over.

She didn’t have the energy to bother with any of that.

She let Percy guide her upstairs and settle her onto the bed.

Her wounds hadn’t healed yet, and after everything she’d been put through, she was drained.

Natasha was so exhausted that she could barely keep her eyes open.

It didn’t take long before she drifted off into a deep sleep.

Percy walked over to her side.

He sat down at the edge of her bed.

His eyes gazed at her for a long moment, a complex look flickering within them.

Right now, he was drowning in regret.

He thought, ‘Why didn’t I realize sooner that Natasha was the one I’d been searching for all along?

‘Instead, I kept hurting her again and again, all because I kept choosing other women over her.’

Thinking about it now, Percy felt like slapping himself silly.

‘Why was I so stupid back then?’ Percy berated himself.

Happiness was right there, waiting for him to grab it.

But he’d let it slip away, just like that.

He used to be her husband, able to be with her openly, with every right.

But now, he was nothing more than her ex.

He’d lost the status he once had. He couldn’t be with her like he used to.

Thinking about it, Percy’s chest felt tight, like he couldn’t catch his breath.

His big eyes stayed fixed on Natasha, never leaving her for a moment.

He couldn’t bear the thought of something happening to her. It would tear him apart.

Percy reached out and took Natasha’s hand.

He gazed at her with deep affection. “Nat, I let you down before. From now on, let me be the one to protect you. I promise, I’ Il pay back everything I owe you.”

He’d already taken care of Joan.

Now, only Joelle was left.

If Joelle hadn’t kept hanging around him all the time, he wouldn’t have lost sight of what mattered.

He never would have missed out on the one he truly wanted.

Percy wasn’t about to let Joelle get away with it.

Absolutely not!

Just as Percy was lost in thought, he suddenly heard Natasha calling out in her sleep.

Cold sweat beaded on her forehead.

Her lips kept moving, murmuring something over and over.

Percy reached out, wanting to hold her close and comfort her.

But as he was about to pull her into his arms, he heard Natasha murmur a name in her sleep. “Jared!”

Yeah, it was Jared.

Percy double-checked, making sure he wasn’t imagining things.

Even in Natasha’s dreams, the person she called out for wasn’t him. It was Jared.

It showed how much Jared mattered to her.

And as for Percy…

He was afraid he no longer had a place in her heart.

Percy had only himself to blame. He never cherished her when he was her husband.

Now, Percy finally understood what it meant to only feel regret after losing her.

So, he kept vigil by Natasha’s bedside, never leaving her side.

He watched over her all night long.

Percy didn’t sleep a wink.

But he didn’t feel tired at all.

Having her there was enough to keep him awake.

He could watch her forever and never get tired of it.

As the sky began to lighten, Natasha finally woke up.

She stared around, confused by the unfamiliar room.

Then she spotted Percy resting at her bedside, and it all came flooding back to her.

She remembered that Percy had brought her here from the hospital yesterday.

But she didn’t want to stay in Percy’s house, or get tangled up with him again.

Natasha slowly sat up in bed, wanting to get up.

Her movement startled Percy, who had been slumped over at her bedside.

“You’re awake. Are you hungry?” Percy asked.

Percy showed his concern for her as soon as he woke up.

Natasha shook her head, meeting his eyes, calm and steady.

“I want to leave,” Natasha said.

She didn’t want to stay here, not even for a moment longer.

And she wanted nothing to do with him, not even a little bit.

“At least stay until you’re fully healed,” Percy urged her softly.

Percy knew he was partly to blame for her injuries.

He owed it to her.

So he had to make it right and take care of her, no matter what.

“No, I’m going back to the hospital right now,” Natasha said firmly, not backing down.

Percy’s gaze darkened.

Natasha was instinctively distant from him.

He could sense her making it clear she wanted nothing to do with him.

But he couldn’t blame her.

He had no one to blame but himself.

“I’m afraid you can’t go back now,” Percy reminded her in a low, solemn voice.

Natasha was taken aback.

She frowned. “What, are you planning to lock me up again?”

Natasha couldn’t believe how much Percy had changed.

He used to be nothing like this.

Percy used to be a jerk, but he was never this over-the-top.

Back then, the worst he did was cheat on her.

But now?

Now, Percy was doing everything he could to mess with Natasha, his ex-wife.

He didn’t give a damn about what she wanted.

This time, Percy didn’t protest. He just stayed silent.

So what if he had to lock her up?

As long as she stayed by his side, nothing else mattered.

He didn’t mind playing dirty if that was what it took.

“Percy Grosso!”

Natasha called his name through clenched teeth, barely holding back her rage.

But Percy just grinned at her, unfazed.

“I’ll have the maid bring up breakfast,” he said, as nothing had happened.

Natasha wasn’t hungry at all.

‘Like I want his breakfast, she scoffed to herself.

She turned away, not wanting to deal with him.

After a bit, the maid carried in breakfast.

Percy grabbed the breakfast and set it by her bed.

“Let me feed you,” Percy offered, his tone gentle.

He scooped up a spoonful of oatmeal and brought it right to her lips.

Natasha felt like she had no real way to say no.

With a resigned sigh, she took the spoon from him herself.

“No, I’ll do it,” she said firmly.
