Chapter 318 Treat Her Even Better
Chapter 318 Treat Her Even Better
Nat thought, ‘Is it really just because he got bullied and I helped him out?
‘Even if we did share something back then, that was ages ago.
‘Any connection we had in recent years has been destroyed by everything he’s done.
‘There’s no way I’d forgive him for everything he’s put me through all these years, just because of some old history.
‘Some hurts, once they happen, there’s no going back.’
“Nat…” Percy called out softly.
A flicker of disappointment crossed Percy’s eyes, but he quickly pushed it down.
He didn’t blame her for how things had turned out between them.
If anyone was to blame, it was himself.
‘Why couldn’t I have found her sooner?’ Percy thought to himself.
He got played by those villains and kept blaming her over and over.
It was all his fault.
It was like his chest was crawling with ants, eating him alive inside.
“Enough,” Natasha cut Percy off, her voice icy.
She didn’t want to listen to any more of his meaningless, guilt-ridden speeches.
Percy’d hurt her more times than she could count.
If it weren’t for him, she never would’ve ended up with that nervous disorder.
It had taken Natasha ages to claw her way out of that nightmare, and she wasn’t about to let herself get dragged back in.
Percy let out a heavy sigh.
His eyes turned red and watery.
He knew that getting Natasha to forgive him and take him back wasn’t something that could happen overnight.
All those years of his coldness, neglect, hurt, and betrayal had left scars deep in Natasha’s heart.
Just saying sorry wasn’t enough to fix things.
Percy had to show her he was serious, not just with words, but with real actions.
He genuinely understood how wrong he’d been.
And he was ready to do whatever it took to make things right for her.
“Whether you believe it or not, Nat, I’ve been trying to find you for years,” Percy said, his eyes somber and full of longing.
“The past is what it is. I can’t change any of it. But please, trust me. From now on, I’ll do everything I can to make it up to you,” Percy continued, his voice low and sincere.
Natasha’s brows knitted together.
Honestly, she wanted to tell him straight up that she didn’t care at all whether he tried to earn her forgiveness.
All she wanted was for him to stay away from her.
The farther, the better.
But Percy clearly wasn’t ready to hear that right now.
He was so wrapped up in his own emotions and regret that he couldn’t snap out of it.
Nothing she said would get through to him.
“Alright, I’m full. Can you take me back now?” Natasha said, her voice icy and impatient.
She didn’t want to say another word to him. All she wanted was to leave right away.
Percy turned to the maid and ordered, “Take Nat back to her room.”
Natasha’s expression darkened.
Percy knew perfectly well she wanted to go back to the hospital, not the room he’d arranged for her.
‘Is he really planning to keep me trapped here for good?’ Natasha thought.

Just as Natasha was stewing in her frustration, her phone suddenly started ringing.
After Percy took her out of the hospital, he handed Natasha’s phone back to her.
But he’d tampered with it.
Jared had been blocked.
So there was no way Jared could be the one calling Natasha now.
Natasha glanced at the caller ID, hesitated for a moment, then picked up.
“Hey, Dad…” she said.
Bernard barked through the phone, his tone sharp and impatient. “Brat, didn’t I tell you to report to the Whittier Group? It’s been two days, and you still haven’t shown your face yet.”
Natasha shot Percy a look, gripping her phone tighter. “I… I might not be able to get there for a while.”
Percy had her stuck here.
She wasn’t going anywhere unless Percy let her out.
Bernard had no clue what was going on.
As soon as he heard Natasha say she couldn’t make it, he instantly blew up.
“Are you trying to mess with me? Natasha, you’re getting more and more out of line! We had a deal, and now you’re backing out? Do you even see me as your father anymore…” Bernard yelled into the phone.
He went off on Natasha, chewing her out over the phone.
Natasha couldn’t help but frown.
She was ready to hang up. She’d had enough of Bernard’s ranting.
But before she could, her phone was suddenly snatched away.
She turned, only to see, much to her annoyance, Percy already holding it.
“Bernard, it’s me,” Percy said warmly.
Natasha was instantly taken aback.
They were already divorced, and everyone in both families knew it.
‘What the hell is he doing?’ Natasha thought.
Even back when they were married, he never called her dad that warmly, not once.
Bernard was taken aback on the other end of the call.
He almost wondered if he’d heard wrong.
“Percy?” Bernard blurted out.
Back when Percy married Natasha, he never liked calling Bernard warmly.
Now that he and Natasha were divorced, it made even less sense.
Who still talked to their ex-wife’s dads warmly after the divorce?
“Yes, Bernard,” Percy repeated, sounding both serious and respectful.
“Nat’s staying with me right now. She was in a car accident and suffered some minor injuries, so she’s recovering here. Once she’s better, I’ll send her back to you,” Percy added.
Bernard caught on right away. Percy was obviously planning to take care of Natasha himself.
‘Wait, does Percy still have a thing for Nat?’ Bernard thought, a bit surprised.
After all, Percy was now the heir to the Grosso family.
If he were still into Nat, that would surely be a win for the Whittier family.
Bernard quickly sized up the situation, his mind working overtime.
For Percy’s sake, Bernard’s attitude flipped instantly, going from angry to friendly in a heartbeat.
“So Nat’s with you. With you taking care of her, Percy, how could I not feel at ease?” Bernard said.
He tossed out a few grand-sounding lines, acting like he was being a concerned dad.
It looked like he was telling Percy to look after Natasha, but really, he was trying to get on Percy’s good side.
After Percy hung up, he turned to Natasha and said, “Your dad’s agreed, so you’ll be staying here with me for now.”
