Jared moved in on Natasha out of nowhere, closing the distance between them in an instant.

The thin blanket slipped off him.

More of his toned muscles came into view.

Even that alluring V-line was on full display.

‘Oh my god!’ Natasha thought, her eyes going wide in shock.

She was so stunned, she nearly had a nosebleed from the shock!

“No…” Natasha blurted out, her voice barely audible.

She snapped out of it, quickly looking away, doing her best to cover up how rattled she was.

Her eyes caught sight of all sorts of medicine scattered across his nightstand.

She tried to shift gears, blurting out, “Did you take your, meds yet?”

“No,” Jared replied, his brow furrowing.

Natasha suddenly remembered what Derek had said earlier, asking her to help convince Jared to take his meds.

‘Well, I might as well give it a shot, she thought.

“Go ahead and take your meds,” Natasha said, urging him gently.

She picked out his pills one by one and held them out in her palm.

Then she poured a glass of water and offered both to him together.

Jared’s expression turned cold. “I’m not taking it,” he said, his voice brooking no argument.

He made it clear he wouldn’t be swayed.

He looked down and went back to his paperwork.

“Take your meds. Now,” Natasha ordered, not giving him any room to argue.

She pulled the file right out of his hands, forcing him to finally take his medicine.

Jared’s brow twitched, and he shot her a warning look. “Natasha!”

Natasha knew she’d never get the upper hand if she tried to go toe-to-toe with Jared.

So she softened her voice. “Please, just take your medicine. It’ll help your wound heal up.”

Her eyes shimmered with an irresistible smile as she coaxed him softly.

When Jared saw that smile on her face, his heart skipped a beat.

He was totally entranced, just staring at her without even realizing it.

His eyes were fixed on her, intense and unwavering.

Natasha felt pinned by Jared’s heated, almost aggressive stare.

She was suddenly feeling super awkward, her whole body tense.

“What are you staring at?” she snapped, glaring right back at him.

Jared snapped out of it, glanced at the file in her hand. “Hand it over.”

“No way! Not until you take your meds,” Natasha replied, deliberately refusing just to mess with him.

Jared grabbed her wrist, his tone icy and threatening. “This is your last chance. Are you giving it to me or not?”

“No means no!” Natasha shot back, keeping the file held high above her head, refusing to give in.

“You brought this on yourself!” Jared muttered darkly, his voice low and threatening.

Natasha didn’t even have time to react before he seized her waist.

The next second, he yanked her toward him.

She was pulled onto the bed, and Jared’s tall, commanding figure loomed over her, pressing her down.

Natasha’s soft body was helpless beneath him, completely at his mercy.

The file slipped right into Jared’s hand as he pinned her down.

“You jerk. Get off me!” Natasha blurted out, her face flushed with both embarrassment and annoyance.

She shot him an annoyed glare, pressing her hands against his firm chest, trying to push him off.

Jared kept her pinned beneath him, making no move to let her go.

His eyes never broke contact, locked onto her without a single blink.

Their bodies were so close that her unique scent washed over him with every breath, intoxicating his senses.

He couldn’t help but savor it, hooked and wanting more.

Jared couldn’t stop thinking about that night when Natasha was out of her mind from the drugs, how she’d wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him in, begging for his lips.

Heat surged through him, making him feel like he was burning up from the inside out.

Natasha was just as overwhelmed as Jared, her nerves on edge.

His hot breath washed over her cheek, making her face flush and her heart pound.

The heat between them was rising fast.

A tingling rush sparked between their bodies as they pressed close together.

Jared’s lips hovered just above Natasha’s, so close he was about to claim her rosy lips.

Suddenly, his brows furrowed.

Tiny beads of sweat started to form on his forehead.

His face turned ghostly pale.

Natasha sensed something was wrong and shot him a quick look.

She cried out, panicked. “Jared, move. Your wound is bleeding!”

He must’ve moved too roughly just now and reopened the wound on his arm.

Jared was still holding her down, not budging an inch, acting like the bleeding didn’t bother him at all.

Natasha blurted out anxiously, “Jared, let me go! I need to get a doctor in here before you bleed out…” But instead of letting her go, Jared kissed her right on the lips without a second thought.

Her eyes flew open in shock, she couldn’t believe it.

Of all times, she never thought Jared would kiss her now.

Her mind went totally blank.

It felt like she was completely enveloped by him, his heat and scent closing in from all sides.

Jared wasn’t about to settle for just a simple kiss.

He parted her lips, deepening the kiss as his tongue sought hers, eager for more.

Just then, the door to the hospital room burst open.

“Jared, are you okay…” Sharon called out, sounding worried.

She came running as soon as she heard Jared was hurt, eager to check on him.

But the second she walked into his hospital room, she caught Jared in the act, making out with a woman on his hospital bed.

She froze, her words caught in her throat, too stunned to even finish her sentence.

Sharon’s arrival startled Natasha, snapping her out of the moment.

Natasha gasped in surprise.

She quickly came to her senses and shoved Jared away.

Flustered, she scrambled off the bed.

As Natasha hurried past, Sharon deliberately gave her an extra, curious glance.

Sharon thought, ‘Wait, it’s her.

‘Jared summoned me late at night to give her an antidote injection last time.’

“Couldn’t you have given me a heads-up before showing up?” Jared muttered darkly, scowling at Sharon.

He was right in the middle of making out with Natasha, so he didn’t expect Sharon to barge in at that exact moment.

Sharon gave an apologetic smile, “Sorry! Didn’t mean to crash your little make-out session…”

She was about to crack a few more jokes, but then her eyes landed on Jared, and she saw his bandages were stained deep
