Chapter 63 Go Home With Him?

Chapter 63 Go Home With Him?

Natasha thought to herself, ‘Is he talking about Lizzie? But isn’t she his fiancée?’

Natasha’s eyes were filled with suspicion.

As Natasha helped him get dressed, her hand went off course.

Without even realizing it, her hand ended up resting right on his chest.

By the time she realized what she’d done, it was already too late.

Natasha’s eyes widened as she stared at his toned, dazzling chest.

Natasha’s cheeks flushed bright red in an instant.

Her heart was pounding like crazy.

“I didn’t mean to…” Natasha mumbled, barely able to get the words out, feeling mortified.

She snatched her hand back, her ears feeling like they were on fire.

Jared watched her, noticing how her face and ears were burning red with embarrassment.

He felt an unfamiliar, restless heat stirring inside him.

His gaze grew more intense, almost smoldering with desire.

Natasha’s scalp tingled with embarrassment.

She had no idea if he believed her excuse.

She quickly threw off the covers, jumped out of bed, and dashed straight into the bathroom.

It took Natasha a while to calm herself down. She splashed some cold water on her face, hoping to cool off and steady her

nerves.

When she finally came out, she was surprised to see Jared already dressed and out of bed.

He was wearing a dark overcoat, and he looked much healthier than he had the day before.

His handsome features and commanding presence made him impossible to ignore.

Hé radiated a sense of luxury and nobility from head to toe.

“How come you’re up already?” Natasha asked, her voice full of surprise.

She stared at him, still in disbelief.

“I’m getting discharged today,” Jared explained.

“Discharged?” Natasha blurted out, surprised.

Natasha thought, ‘He just got injured yesterday, and now he’s already leaving the hospital? Isn’t that way too fast?

‘There’s no way his wound has healed already, right?’

Jared shot her a glance and said, “I’m going home to recover.”

Natasha blinked in surprise.

She realized, ‘Oh, so he wants to recuperate at home.

‘Well, that figures.

‘Seriously, who actually likes being stuck in a hospital?’

“Come over and help me up,” Jared suddenly commanded.

Natasha walked over hesitantly, feeling awkward and unsure.

As soon as she got close, Jared reached out his long arm and pulled her into his arms.

Natasha’s heart skipped a beat. “Mr. Rundell?” she exclaimed, startled.

“I’m tired,” Jared said simply.

He leaned heavily against Natasha, practically dumping all his weight on her.

Natasha’s steps faltered under the sudden load.

She almost went down with him, barely managing to keep them both upright.

Natasha couldn’t help but sweatdrop. “Mr. Rundell, you’re not seriously asking me to give you a piggyback ride, are you?”

If he actually wanted me to carry him, there’s no way I could pull that off; she thought.

“No need for you to carry me,” Jared replied.

Natasha was just about to relax when he added, “But I’m injured, so you gotta support me.”

Natasha was speechless.

She thought, ‘Didn’t he just injure his shoulder and arm? His legs are perfectly fine.

‘Does he really need me to support him?’

She couldn’t help but feel suspicious about the whole thing.

But he eased up, and the weight pressing down on her was much lighter.

In the end, Jared just put his arm around her shoulders and walked out of the hospital room with her.

With Jared and Natasha being such a stunning couple, they turned heads everywhere they went.

Plus, with a dozen or so bodyguards in black trailing behind Jared, it was like a celebrity parade.

Wherever they went, all eyes were on them.

As they walked out of the hospital, a line of luxury cars was already parked at the entrance, waiting for them.

Natasha helped Jared get into one of the cars, and just as she was about to say goodbye, Jared grabbed her and pulled her in after him.

“Where to?” Jared asked, locking eyes with her.

“I’m going back to work,” Natasha answered, not missing a beat.

He was her boss, so he could take it easy and recover at home. But since she wasn’t hurt, she still had to drag herself back to the office and punch the clock like everyone else.

“You’re my assistant. Taking care of me while I’m recovering is literally your job,” Jared said, as if it was just common sense.

“What?” Natasha couldn’t help but grimace.

Natasha thought, ‘Wait, is he actually expecting me to go home with him and look after him?

‘Sure, I’m his assistant, but going to his place with him? That doesn’t seem appropriate at all.’

Natasha was racking her brain for an excuse to turn him down when her phone suddenly rang.

She picked it up, and her mom, Sandra, was on the other end. “Natasha, I need to see you.”

After hanging up, Natasha looked at Jared with an apologetic expression. “Mr. Rundell, my mom needs me for something urgent.”

She immediately tried to get out of the car, but Jared caught her arm.

“Address?” Jared demanded.

Natasha paused for a moment, then gave him the address where Sandra wanted to meet.

Jared told the driver to take her there first, before anything else.

Natasha was genuinely surprised.

She never expected him to go out of his way for her.

Natasha arrived at the Wind Cafe.

Sandra, Sandra, was a regular here, always coming to catch a show and sip tea.

As soon as Natasha stepped out of Jared’s luxury car, she headed straight for the private box on the second floor.

Sandra was sitting by the window, lost in thought as she gazed out at the scenery.

“Mom, did you want to see me?” Natasha asked as she approached.

Natasha walked over to Sandra.

Sandra didn’t even look at her, just demanded, “Who brought you here just now?”

Natasha guessed Sandra had spotted her getting out of Jared’s Rolls-Royce from the upstairs window.

“It’s my boss,” Natasha replied.

Sandra whipped around, her eyes narrowing as she stared Natasha down. “What exactly is your relationship with him?”

Natasha replied calmly, “He’s my boss, I’m his assistant. That’s it.”

For now, that was really all there was between them.

Natasha couldn’t stand the way Sandra was looking at her right now.

Her gaze was full of scrutiny and criticism.
