Chapter 65 Jared Takes Her Home
Chapter 65 Jared Takes Her Home
Natasha’s mind went totally blank for a second.
Am I dreaming?’ she wondered, feeling like everything was unreal.
Out of nowhere, a group of tall, cold-faced bodyguards stormed into the bar.
In an instant, the whole place fell completely silent.
The overwhelming presence made everyone breathe carefully, as if even a whisper might draw attention.
Natasha cocked her head, eyeing the man in front of her with a confused look.
Her gaze was glassy and unfocused from the drinks.
She waved at him. “Hey, you kinda look like my boss…”
Jared swept her into his arms.
He only wanted to make sure she wasn’t hurt.
The strong scent of alcohol hit him the moment she was in his embrace.
Jared quickly furrowed his brow and looked down at her.
Natasha’s cheeks were flushed, her eyes hazy and unfocused.
She was clearly wasted.
‘No wonder she didn’t even recognize me,’ Jared thought.
“Wanna have a drink with me…” Natasha slurred, waving him over.
She was just about to invite him for a drink.
But before she could finish, Jared scooped her up and slung her over his shoulder without warning.
Suddenly, she was airborne.
Her head was spinning even worse now.
Natasha struggled against his chest, panicking. “Let me down. I wanna walk on my own…
Jared paid no attention to her protests and headed for the door without missing a beat.
After they left, the bodyguards finally cleared out as well.
Only then did everyone finally let out a long, relieved breath.
“Let me down!” Natasha shouted, her voice echoing in the night.
Once they stepped outside, the cool night air hit Natasha, and she sobered up a bit.
But her stomach started churning like crazy.
She pounded on Jared’s back in a panic. “Put me down. I’m gonna throw up. I really am!”
Jared saw Natasha suddenly look sick and immediately let her go.
Natasha groaned.
Before she could even steady herself, she rushed to the curb and vomited hard.
Natasha’s brows were furrowed tight as she retched miserably, clutching the front of her shirt with both hands.
But the pain just wouldn’t let up.
Watching her suffer like that, Jared’s heart twisted painfully.
He couldn’t help but walk over, gently patting her back, then shot a glance at the bodyguards standing nearby.
One of the bodyguards instantly reacted, passing him a bottle of water.
Jared twisted off the cap and held the bottle to her lips.
Natasha drank as he held the bottle for her.
She rinsed her mouth a few times and spat it out, and the nasty taste was finally gone.
Natasha tried to stand up without thinking.
But her legs were totally numb from crouching so long to puke.
Her body lurched sideways, almost hitting the ground.

Jared wrapped his arm around her waist just in time, steadying her and pulling her close.
“How are you feeling? Any better?” he asked, his voice gentle.
Natasha met his concerned gaze, staring into those eyes.
After throwing up, she felt way more clear-headed.
She finally recognized the handsome face just inches away. It really was Jared.
“Mr. Rundell, thank you. Sorry for bothering you again… Natasha mumbled, feeling awkward.
Natasha awkwardly thanked him, using his support to steady herself before stepping out of his embrace.
“Let’s go, I’ll get you home, Jared said gently.
He locked eyes with her for a moment, then strode ahead.
Natasha stood there, a bit stunned, hesitated, and then hurried after him.
Once they got into his car, Natasha blurted out, “Why were you at that bar tonight?”
She wondered, ‘Was he really just there for a drink? What are the chances?
‘But didn’t he just get out of the hospital? Is he even recovered yet? And now he’s already out at a bar?’
Jared shot her a look with those deep eyes. “Why didn’t you pick up my calls?”
Natasha blinked, caught off guard.
“You called me?” she asked, a little confused.
After saying that, Natasha fished out her phone to check.
And sure enough, there were like a dozen missed calls. Every single one from Jared.
“Sorry. My phone was on silent. I totally missed them” she said quickly, rushing to explain herself.
Jared locked eyes with her. “Word is you skipped work today too.”
Natasha’s expression froze for a moment.
She never thought he would know she’d ditched work today.
‘Did he come all the way just to grill me? Natasha thought, anxiety creeping in.
“Well…” Natasha fumbled, her mind going blank.
Right when she was struggling to come up with an excuse, Jared cut in, sounding worried, “Did something happen to you?”
Natasha replied, “No, it’s not a big deal. Just got into an argument with my mom. Totally forgot to ask for leave.
“Mr. Rundell, I’m sorry. Just chalk today up as me skipping work.”
She thought Jared would scold her, but instead, he just looked at her quietly.
The next moment, his strong hand took hers in a firm grasp.
Natasha paused, a bit stunned.
She glanced up in surprise, locking eyes with Jared.
For a moment, the passing lights outside the car softened his sharp features, making him seem almost gentle.
Natasha glanced at their joined hands, feeling uneasy about the sudden intimacy. She pulled away without thinking.
Turning away, she gazed out the window.
The luxury car raced through the darkness of the night.
The buzz from the alcohol still hadn’t faded yet.
Natasha watched the scenery blur past outside the window, her eyes slowly drifting shut.
Jared looked at Natasha, realizing she’d fallen asleep beside him at some point.
He reached out and pulled her into his arms.
The soft fragrance of her hair, mixed with the faint scent of alcohol, lingered around him.
He gazed at her sleeping face, his eyes growing even darker with emotion.
He wanted to kiss her so badly, but he couldn’t bring himself to steal a kiss while she was asleep.
Jared lowered his chin onto the top of her head, gently nuzzling her hair.
Natasha let out a soft kittenish whimper.

Jared felt a rush of heat in his gut.
At the same time, his heart melted a little more.
To be honest, even Jared couldn’t figure out what was going on in his heart.
He was so obsessed with her that, the second he couldn’t get in touch, he sent his men to scour the city for her.
