Chapter 71 Ask Her For Help
Chapter 71 Ask Her For Help
*Jared!” Lizzie walked in, smiling as she greeted Jared.
Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks, her eyes landing on Natasha in surprise. “Natasha, what are you doing here?”
Natasha answered with a straight face, “Mr. Rundell called me here for some work.”
Lizzie actually didn’t suspect a thing. Instead, she looked a bit embarrassed. “Did I interrupt you guys?”
“No!” Natasha quickly shook her head. “Mr. Rundell’s done talking to me, so I’ll get going.”
She was just glad to have a reason to slip away.
The moment the office door clicked shut, Jared’s expression grew noticeably colder.
‘She’s always so quick to bolt, Jared thought to himself.
“What brings you here?” he asked Lizzie, his voice tinged with impatience.
“I came to ask if you wanted to have dinner together. Your mom said you were free tonight,” Lizzie said with a bright smile,
Afraid Jared would say no, she brought up his mom, Luna, for backup.
But little did she know, that just made Jared even more annoyed.
“She must’ve gotten it wrong. I’m not free,” Jared replied coldly.
“But…” Lizzie’s face fell, and she was about to say something else.
Jared waved her off impatiently. “I’ve got things to do. You can leave now.”
Lizzie froze, words stuck in her throat..
She walked out, her mood sinking.
Back in her office, Natasha opened the BC Project proposal Jared had handed her earlier.
This was the company’s first time working on a semiconductor project with Gontix.
Everyone at the company was paying close attention to it.
Natasha recalled that Jared had told her to go to Thalruar with him next week to sign the contract.
He must want her involved in this project.
She knew she had to seize this opportunity to prove herself and take her career to the next level.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
“Come in!” Natasha replied, not even bothering to look up from her work.
And unexpectedly, it was Lizzie who walked in.
“Natasha!” Lizzie called out.
It wasn’t until Lizzie set her Hermès bag down on Natasha’s desk that Natasha realized who it was.
“Miss Hopkins, what brings you here?” Natasha asked, surprised.
‘She was just in Mr. Rundell’s office. How did she get out so quickly?’ Natasha wondered.
“Are you free tonight? How about I take you out for dinner?” Lizzie asked out of the blue.
Natasha was taken aback.
She didn’t expect Lizzie to invite her to dinner.
People wouldn’t ask for dinner without a reason. Natasha figured Lizzie must want something from her.
Natasha instinctively tried to decline. “I might have to work overtime tonight.”
Lizzie didn’t mind at all. “No worries, no matter how late you work, I’ll wait for you.”
Natasha was speechless.
After Lizzie said that, Natasha really couldn’t bring herself to refuse.
Besides, Lizzie had given her a dress before. She might as well return the favor.
In the end, Natasha could only agree.

Chapter 71 Ask Her For Help
That evening, Natasha and Lizzie headed to a famous members-only restaurant for dinner.
Their dinner took place in a spacious private dining room.
Inside, Lizzie asked the manager to serve up all their signature dishes.
“We really can’t finish all this,” Natasha said, not wanting to waste so much food.
But Lizzie just waved it off. “Hey, I’m treating you tonight, of course I want to make sure you get the best.”
Natasha gave a stiff smile. “Miss Hopkins, if you’ve got something on your mind, just say it straight.”
Lizzie raised an eyebrow. “So you guessed it? Didn’t think you’d catch on so quickly. Yeah, I do need your help tonight.
Natasha replied humbly, “Just tell me what you need, Miss Hopkins. No need to be so formal.”
Lizzie picked up a dish for her, leaned in, and whispered, “I want you to help me win Jared over.”
Natasha had just taken a sip of juice and almost spit it out.
‘Help her win Jared over?’ Natasha was floored.
Never in a million years did she expect this was why Lizzie wanted to meet up tonight.
“I’ve never tried to pursue a guy before. I’m afraid I really can’t help you with that,” Natasha said, feeling awkward.
Lizzie replied, “I don’t need you to do much. Just let me know a little about Jared’s schedule, so I can set up a ‘chance’ encounter with him.”
Natasha shook her head. “Honestly, you should talk to Leigh. She’s Jared’s secretary, and she’s the one who manages his
schedule.”
Lizzie’s expression turned gloomy. “It’s not like I haven’t thought about it, but Leigh is part of Jared’s trusted inner circle, just like Derek.
“They’ve been with him since his time abroad. I checked, and right now, you’re the only newcomer around him…”
Natasha could feel the stress lines forming on her forehead.
‘So that’s why she picked me, because I’m the one most likely to sell Jared out; Natasha thought.
“That’s exactly why I don’t really know much about Mr. Rundell’s business. I just got promoted, after all…” Natasha said, trying to dodge the request.
“Just tell me whatever you know. I’m not asking you to do this for free!” Lizzie said, pulling out a check and handing it to her.
Natasha waved her hands, trying to refuse. “No, that’s really not necessary…”
But Lizzie just kept pushing the check toward her, refusing to give up.
In the end, Natasha had no choice but to agree. “Miss Hopkins, since you consider me a friend, I’ll do you this favor, no
need for the check.”
She thought about it. If Lizzie really managed to snag Jared, it might actually work out in her favor.
At least once Jared had a fiancée, he wouldn’t be able to mess around with her or try anything shady anymore.
All those humiliating moments, her meltdown, getting drugged in front of him, she could finally move on from all that.
Lizzie’s eyes sparkled. “Really? That’s awesome! Can you help me ask him out tomorrow?”
Natasha replied, a bit hesitant, “I’ll give it a try.”
