Chapter 89 She’ll Be Safe
Chapter 89 She’ll Be Safe
Meanwhile, over in the VIP suite.
Jared hadn’t even warmed his seat for five minutes before he was itching to leave.
He was only here today to pay Algernon some respect, showing up at his newly opened club for appearances.
His mind was still on Natasha, and he was already planning to go and find her. He had no intention of wasting time here. “Jared, what’s the rush? You just got here, and you’re already leaving?” Nicolas called out, stopping him in time.
Algernon also chimed in, “Yeah, Jared, why not stick around a little longer?”
Jared was about to say something when the door to the suite swung open.
“Nicolas, guess who I just saw in Suite 1006? Your wife, Joelle!”
Raphael Burgum had just come out of Suite 1006 and headed straight over to their suite. As soon as he saw Nicolas, he blurted it out.
Nicolas’s brows furrowed, clearly annoyed. “Why are you even bringing her up?”
Algernon gave him a swift kick. “Scram, scram! Don’t you know Nicolas is about to get divorced?”
The thing Nicolas hated most right now was people mentioning Joelle in front of him.
Raphael had no idea what was going on.
He muttered to himself, “But I saw Joelle making her sister Natasha drink all the booze on the table…”
“What did you just say?” Jared demanded, his voice sharp.
“Which suite are they in?” Nicolas pressed, not wasting a second.
Raphael froze, wide-eyed, as Jared stormed over and grabbed him by the collar.
He was scared out of his wits.
“It’s Suite 1006! But Joelle’s probably already left. She dumped Natasha with Gordon,” he blurted out, not daring to hold anything back.
Raphael didn’t dare hold anything back and just blurted out the truth.
Jared let go of him and bolted out of the suite without a second thought.
Nicolas followed closely behind.
Algernon wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and hurried after them.
‘Holy hell, if my club ends up offending Jared and Nicolas, the two big shots, will I even survive in this business?’ Algernon thought, his heart racing.
Jared booted the door to Suite 1006 open.
Natasha’s scream exploded in their ears.
Jared stormed in.
Nicolas and Algernon rushed in right behind him.
The suite was a total mess, and the air was thick with the metallic stench of blood.
Natasha was slumped on the floor, looking like she’d lost her soul.
Her clothes were in disarray, exposing her smooth shoulders to the air.
She was clutching a blood-soaked shard of glass tightly in her hand.
She was shivering in fear uncontrollably.
Gordon lay face down on the couch, motionless.
A thick trail of blood was spreading from his abdomen, snaking across the floor.
The entire area of the couch beneath him was drenched in blood.
Jared rushed straight to Natasha’s side.
Her face was ghostly pale.
Her hand, gripping the blood-soaked shard of glass, kept trembling.

She was consumed by terror.
Natasha was so out of it that she didn’t even realize Jared was there.
Her mind kept flashing back to the moment Gordon tried to force himself on her.
She fought back with everything she had.
But Gordon was way too strong. Her efforts were in vain.
He ripped her dress to shreds, and was about to force himself on her…
Desperate, Natasha grabbed a shard of glass and, acting purely on instinct, stabbed him.
She only wanted to stop Gordon from assaulting her.
She never imagined he’d bleed so much.
Natasha’s tears fell uncontrollably, spilling down her cheeks as she struggled to hold herself together.
Jared took off his jacket and gently wrapped it around Natasha’s shoulders, then gathered her into his arms.
“It’s okay now. It’s all over,” he murmured, his voice gentle and reassuring.
Natasha was still shaken, her words barely holding together. “I… I didn’t mean to kill him… I was trying to defend myself.
Jared said gently, “I know, you didn’t do it on purpose…”
Nicolas and Algernon both had a bad feeling. Trouble was definitely brewing.
Algernon immediately started issuing commands, making sure the whole incident stayed under wraps.
Nicolas walked over and checked Gordon’s breathing. “He’s still alive. We need to get him to the hospital, now.”
Then, he dialed 911.
The ambulance and police cars arrived almost at the same time.
Gordon was loaded onto a stretcher.
The cops quickly started checking out the scene.
It took several tries before they could finally pry the bloodied shard of glass from Natasha’s death grip.
The officer shot a glance at Natasha, who was as pale as a ghost. “Bring her in for a statement at the station.”
Natasha was utterly terrified, panic flooding her mind.
‘Will they think I did this on purpose? Are they going to lock me up?’ Natasha thought, dread twisting in her gut.
Jared gripped her bloodied, trembling hand. “Don’t worry. With me here, nothing will happen to you.”
His words carried a calm, unwavering strength that made her feel safe..
Natasha felt an unexpected sense of peace settle over her.
Natasha was escorted to the station by the cops.
A female officer made sure a doctor bandaged her hand where the glass had cut her.
She was given a full check-up, head to toe.
They needed to assess how badly Natasha’d been hurt.
Finally, they took her to give a statement, asking her to reconstruct the events and describe in detail what had happened.
Natasha sat in the interrogation room for the first time, feeling nervous and out of place.
A harsh overhead light shone down on her.
The glare was so intense that she couldn’t keep her eyes open.
The officer asked her to walk them through what happened at the scene.
Natasha tried to keep her emotions steady as she walked them through everything, step by step.
She told them how her mother suddenly stopped answering her calls.
She’d come to the club to look for Joelle, who’d celebrated her mother’s birthday with her the night before, hoping to find out where her mother had gone.
But instead, Joelle forced her to drink every last drop of alcohol on the table, never gave her any answers, and just left her in Gordon’s hands.
The officer asked, “So you’re saying your sister Joelle had something to do with what happened?”
Natasha nodded. “Yes.”

The police summoned Joelle for questioning overnight.
Natasha was temporarily placed in a solitary holding cell.
Due to insufficient evidence, the police were unable to decide on the case for now.
Once Natasha was inside the holding cell, a deep sense of panic welled up inside her.
