Chapter 190 Preparing for Sanctum
Regina’s psychic ability had sensed something, but that didn’t necessarily mean her perception was completely accurate.
Cecelia felt that danger definitely existed, but the source of that power was still unclear.
Finished
However… She thought of something and turned to look at Ivy in the back seat. “Ivy, why didn’t you upgrade earlier?”
Ivy looked at her and explained helplessly, “Cece, I originally thought we still had some time at the safe house. I figured I could upgrade at night. But now…”
“Yeah, we can’t wait until tonight. We’re getting closer to Sanctum. Ivy, upgrade in the car now.”
“Alright…”
Ivy immediately took out the level 4 mutated zombie crystal from her bag.
She was sitting between Jerome and Amber.
Holding the crystal made her a little nervous.
But after looking at Cecelia sitting in the front seat, her determination strengthened. She began adjusting her breathing, closed her eyes, and started absorbing the energy inside the crystal.
Cecelia watched through the rearview mirror.
Not long after, Ivy’s face flushed with the redness that came with leveling up.
As for the time needed… It would probably take one or two hours.
Cecelia decided to enter her space first to check on Tiger, who had taken the mutated monkey crystal earlier to upgrade.
As soon as she entered the space, she saw Ginger lying beside the cobalt fluid pool, sleeping on her back with her belly up.
Her head was even resting on the belly of a curled–up puppy.
She looked unbelievably comfortable.
Cecelia couldn’t help laughing as she walked toward Ginger. She noticed Ginger’s body had grown noticeably bigger than before and was now about the same size as the puppy.
When the puppy saw Cecelia, it whined and tried to stand up.
Ginger woke up from the disturbance, squinted her eyes, rolled over, and continued lying on her side to sleep.
Cecelia picked her up and rubbed her fur vigorously. Ginger didn’t react at all and remained extremely
mellow.

Finisher
“Did you level up?”
“Meow.”
Ginger responded lazily.
Cecelia asked again, “Then can you beat a level 5 mutated beast now?”
Ginger went silent.
She
gave a hesitant little meow, sounding somewhat uncertain.
“Haha…”
Cecelia couldn’t help laughing. “It’s fine. I was just asking casually to check your combat ability. We’re heading to Sanctum soon. When we get there, we’ll probably encounter more mutated zombies than mutated beasts. Anyway, with your current strength, if you work together with me, taking down a level 5 mutated zombie shouldn’t be a problem.”
“Meow.”
Ginger rubbed against her palm, confirming what she said.
“But I have an idea. Once we enter Sanctum, there will definitely be other survivors there. Other than people in our team, I don’t want anyone else seeing you. So if I let you out, you should quietly run ahead for a bit and pretend to be a mutated beast wandering nearby.”
“Meow?”
Ginger looked at her with a face full of confusion.
Cecelia scratched under her chin and said earnestly, “You’re a big cat with the intelligence of a five–year- old child. Acting shouldn’t be difficult for you, right?”
Ginger made a soft purring sound and gave a gentle meow.
That counted as agreeing.
Only then did Cecelia put her down and go check on the other small animals.
The first chicken she had slaughtered had been one of the hen’s chicks.
But the hen didn’t seem particularly bothered about losing one of her chicks. She was still enthusiastically taking care of chicks that weren’t even hers, Little chicks, ducklings, and goslings.
When Cecelia walked closer to watch, she discovered that the hen was even teaching the ducklings and goslings how to eat worms dug out of the soil.
No, to be precise, it wasn’t just worms. There were also snails and various other small insects.
All of them had become food for the hen and the little chicks.

However… Cecelia suddenly thought of another question.
Where did all the animals‘ droppings go?
Even the hen seemed like she only ate but never pooped.
And near the small pool, the area was extremely clean with no trace of waste at all.
Finist
Cecelia didn’t need to drink the cobalt fluid. She could absorb it directly, so she had no psychological discomfort about sharing it with the animals.
She walked around the area and unexpectedly found a “manure pit” some distance away.
Inside the pit were cow dung, sheep dung, and poultry droppings, all partially covered with black soil.
The puppy who had once cried out when Ginger stepped on its head was there.
With the little patch of pure black fur on its forehead, the puppy squatted beside the manure pit and pushed hard, occasionally shaking its short little legs.
“Aw–woo…”
The little black patch had finished pooping.
It looked relieved and even turned its head back to take a look.
