Another man with a tall, thin build stepped out of the car and said to Morton, “Morton, this can’t keep going like this. From Sanctum back to Briar City is still nearly 1800 miles. If those two keep messing around like this, we won’t finish the mission within the one–month deadline. Besides, we’ve got other assignments too. We can’t let one person delay so many things!”
Morton frowned tightly. He looked at the young man and woman in the distance, then turned to the others. “Just endure it a little longer. We’ll see how to handle it once we reach Sanctum.”
“Sanctum is basically surrounded by zombies right now. Sure, Boss, you’ve got spatial ability and enough weapons stored, but we shouldn’t be wasting our energy like this. My suggestion…”
Cade glanced toward the woman and made a ruthless throat–cutting gesture with his hand.
“Cade!” Morton’s face darkened as he stared at him. “Do you remember what your identity is? You think you can just decide to kill someone?”
Cade froze. “Morton, this is a special time. That girl has the young master completely wrapped around her finger…”
“Shut up!” Morton shot him a cold look. “Did the army ever teach you to target a weak woman in chaotic times?”
Cade fell silent. The hand gripping his weapon tightened. “No.”
“Go stand over there and reflect on yourself.” After saying that impatiently, Morton

Cade clenched his teeth angrily.

Another teammate beside him, Mark Hayward, patted his shoulderland said quietly, “Walls have ears. What you said was too obvious. Morton was protecting you. Otherwise if something happens to that woman after we reach Sanctum, Mr. Madron will blame you first. I would Morton save you then?”
Cade’s expression changed slightly. He spat on the ground and glanced around. Sure enough, several people were looking at him. “Damn it. Bunch of lackeys.”

“Yeah.” Cade responded reluctantly and pulled open the car door before getting back inside.

his mouth and walked slowly over to Rex.
Rex had been talking with the woman and suddenly stopped smiling. He glared at Morton with impatience. “What are you doing here?”
Morton gave a thin smile. He glanced at the woman hiding slightly behind Rex with a frightened expression. Sabrina looked like a timid newlywed wife. “Nothing. I just wanted to ask Ms. Lowe exactly who she plans to find in Sanctum, so I can arrange for the military inside Sanctuum to help search.”

“If you’re going to ask, then ask. Why are you standing so close? You smell like blood!” Rex covered his nose in disgust. “Take another step back!”
Morton’s mouth twitched slightly as he stepped back. “Like this?”
“Further!”
“That’s not necessary…” Sabrina gently held Rex’s arm and said softly, “Rex, Captain Carter just wants to ask me a few questions. There’s no need for him to stand that far away.”
Then she looked at Morton with an apologetic expression. “I’m sorry, Captain Carter. I just had motion sickness earlier, so the smell of blood is bothering me. That’s why Rex asked you to step back a little. There was no bad intention.”
Morton looked at her expressionlessly. “Ms. Lowe can answer my question.”
Sabrina nodded lightly. “My parents are in Sanctum. I want to find them.”
“What are their names?”
“Tyrone Lowe and Nadia Lowe.”
“Alright.” After getting the answer, Morton didn’t look at her again and turned to leave.
“Captain Carter, wait.”
Sabrina picked up a fruit platter from the table and handed it to him with a gentle smile. “You and the other men have worked very hard along the way. If you don’t mind, please take this fruit back and share it with the others. It will help with thirst.”
“Sabrina, Captain Carter is a spatial ability user. Why would he need these?” Rex said irritably and began mocking again.
Sabrina looked at him disapprovingly. “Rex, don’t say that. Captain Carter uses his spatial ability to store weapons. How would he have things like this to eat?”
Then she looked back at Morton and said softly, “These fruits were grown using my wood ability. They’re very fresh.”
Morton accepted the fruit platter with a thin smile and handed it to the teammate beside him. “Thank you, Ms. Lowe.”
Then he glanced at Rex and continued calmly. “And thank you, Mr. Madron. Please rest well. We’ll depart again in half an hour. We need to reach Sanctum before nightfall. Otherwise the zombies nearby will start appearing, and neither of you will be able to rest peacefully.”
“Alright.” Sabrina replied softly, still wearing a gentle and sweet smile.
