Chapter 300 Wolf Pack Ambush

Sanctum, Eastern District.

Around noon, Cecelia and the others followed Blake’s psychic sensing and found a relatively safe

spot.

They stopped there to wait for him to level up and took the chance to eat and recover their strength.

“Cece, here.”

Ivy handed Cecelia a braised drumstick, then glanced toward the room where Blake was. “Looks like we’ll be waiting a while.”

anks, Ivy.”

elia took the drumstick and bit into it. “About half an hour, I think. There aren’t many zombies around e. Even if a mutated one shows up, it won’t be a problem.”

eah, yeah!”

Amber quickly chimed in. “Cecelia, Draven and I want to go take a look around, see if there are any low- level mutated zombies nearby. We can grab some crystals for as backup.”

“Go ahead.”

Cecelia reminded them, “Just don’t go too far.”

“Got it!”

Amber responded and left with Draven.

Ivy smiled. “Amber used to avoid Draven, but now she seems to get along with him

pretty well.”

Oliver finished a whole drumstick in one go, crunching through the bones without even spitting them out. “Draven knows how to flatter people.”

Γ Someone like that wouldn’t stay disliked for long, especially not by a sheltered girl like Aruber.

Draven calling Amber’s name every other second had already made her feel pretty pleased with herself. Cecelia couldn’t help but laugh. “Draven doesn’t mean any harm. No need to worry.”

“Our team’s in a pretty good place right now. Hopefully taking down level 5 mutated zombies will go a bit smoother from here on…”

Ivy clasped her hands together and quietly made a wish.

Ahhh! Cecelia, help!”

Fir ched

It had not even been two minutes before Draven came running back, shouting at the top of his lungs.

Amber was on his back, and she looked just as panicked.

Cecelia got up and stopped them, her gaze sweeping past them. From somewhere behind them, a mutated giant wolf had appeared, about the same size as Tiger when he enlarged himself. Its red eyes were filled with greed and malice as it drooled and bared its teeth in a threatening snarl.

Right after that, several more mutated wolfdogs emerged from behind it.

Their levels were lower than the Alpha, probably around level 2 or 3.

But there were a lot of them.

A quick glance showed at least 12 or 13.

No wonder Draven had been so scared that he ran back immediately.

A Level 4 mutated wolf was not something two level 4 ability users could handle, let alone an entire pack.

Even Ivy and Oliver were a little stunned.

Oliver frowned. “Sanctum isn’t near any forests. Why would there be a wolf pack in the city?”

“Yeah, Draven, Amber, where did you two even go just now?” Ivy asked.

Draven wiped the sweat off his face. “We didn’t even get far. We were just about to look for mutated zombies nearby when we ran into that level 4 wolf. Amber immediately told me to run.”

Amber continued, “Exactly! Remember when Cecelia and Timothy barely managed to take down that level 4 mutated snake? And those mutated monkeys? I know how tough these things are. With just the two of us. we’d be lucky not to end up as their lunch, so we ran back right away.”

“Wolves are pack animals. They should be in forests, not cities. If they’re here, there’s only one explanation. They probably escaped from a nearby zoo,” Cecelia said.

She was not too surprised that mutated animals existed in the city.

“Since they’ve already caught up to us, get ready to fight.”

Γ

She was now a level 5 ability user, so dealing with a level 4 mutated wolf was not a big issue. She turned to Oliver and Draven. “You two take care of the level 2 and 3 ones.”

“Got it.”

Oliver nodded and immediately headed outside.

Draven took this as a chance to train himself as well.

As for Amber, Cecelia told her to stay inside and protect Ivy and Blake, who was still leveling up.
