Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1567

He reached out again and drew her back into his arms. Only when Aurora was completely enclosed against his chest did he finally feel at ease.

“Don’t leave me, Rora… please?” he murmured softly.

Aurora looked at him resting against her like a lost puppy, and her heart melted completely.

She had rarely seen Lucas show such vulnerability and witnessing it now made her chest ache with tenderness.

How could she not be moved by this side of him?

“How could I ever leave you? We’ve been together for so long already,” she said gently, her voice filled with warmth meant to soothe his unease.

It was the first time she had seen him like this. In her mind, Lucas had always been calm and decisive—someone who never backed down no matter what he faced.

But tonight, he looked uncertain, almost fragile.

It made her realize that no matter how strong someone appeared on the surface, everyone had a softer side hidden deep down.

And if Lucas was willing to show that weakness to her, it meant she was someone he trusted completely. He wouldn’t let just anyone see him like this.

Thinking that made her heart soften even more.

Her sincerity hit him hard, and Lucas realized exactly what she was asking for. She wasn’t just looking for reassurance; she wanted trust, transparency. And she was right.

He nodded firmly. “You’re right. After everything we’ve been through, you already know so much about me. From now on, I’ll be open with you about everything. I won’t hide anything from you again.”

Aurora’s tense shoulders relaxed, and a soft smile appeared on her lips. At last, she could breathe easily.

The next morning, when she woke early to head to the recording set, Lucas was already gone. A message from him waited on her phone, saying he’d gone back to his villa nearby and that she could come rest there after filming if she wanted.
