“What if I genuinely requires your help?” Scarlett softened her tone, her eyes brimming with hopeful expectation.

But Vanessa failed to comprehend. Instead, she attempted to instruct Scarlett, “Mom, if Mr. Lennox dislikes someone, you should maintain distance from them.”

Scarlett straightened her posture and replied quietly, “Understood.”

The traffic signal transitioned to green. She depressed the accelerator and the vehicle proceeded forward.

For the remainder of their journey, neither spoke.

As they approached the kindergarten entrance, Vanessa suddenly declared, “Mom, might I request your assistance with a matter as well?”

Scarlett maintained an indifferent expression, her voice cool. “Proceed. I shall endeavor to accommodate your request.”

Vanessa stated, “During future visits, please refrain from arriving so early to prepare meals. It disrupts Sabrina’s sleep cycle. Without adequate rest, she lacks sufficient energy for academic pursuits or musical practice.”
