Chapter 118 Damian’s Bargain

Vincent couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling tightening in his chest as he recalled Scarlett’s raw anger from earlier. Was Nolan truly that significant to her? Significant enough to make her speak so harshly to their own daughter?
The next day, Scarlett returned to Rivergate.
There was still no word from Nolan. Growing increasingly concerned, she drove directly to his apartment building.
The paparazzi presence had thinned considerably compared to before, though a few determined stragglers remained. The windows of Nolan’s home were more shattered than during her last visit, and the surrounding area was completely trashed-littered with debris that emitted a foul, lingering odor.
She couldn’t gain entry, and truthfully, Scarlett wasn’t even sure if Nolan was still staying there.
She sat in her car for a moment, lost in thought, when suddenly the passenger door was pulled open. Turning, she saw Damian again, wearing his trademark arrogant smirk. He had that rebellious charm about him that somehow enhanced his looks-the kind of man whose slightest smirk or raised eyebrow could make half the city’s women weak in the knees.
Scarlett’s eyes lingered on him for a moment before she quickly looked away.
Damian frowned, his tone tinged with jealousy. “Who has you so deep in thought?”
As he spoke, he leaned closer to Scarlett, his sharp eyes fixed on her as if trying to read her mind.
Scarlett’s hands rested on the steering wheel. Damian noticed her bare wrist, and the amusement in his eyes froze for a second before he quickly recovered.
He reached out and grabbed her slender wrist, chuckling deeply. “I’ve given you so many bracelets, yet you never wear any of them?”
Scarlett had no patience for his games. Her mind was elsewhere, weighed down by more pressing concerns. Yet she couldn’t help considering Damian’s capabilities-he was, after all, the only person who could truly go toe-to-toe with Vincent.
She turned suddenly, nearly brushing her lips against his in the process. Her face flushed instantly, though she tried to maintain her composure. “Can you help me find Nolan?”
Damian’s heartbeat quickened. The near-contact with Scarlett’s lips left his ears feeling warm. But in front of her, he feigned complete calm, even as his palms began to sweat.

Chapter 118 Damian’s Bargain
He didn’t hesitate. “Okay.”
:
Scarlett was about to thank him when Damian cut in, “But first, you have to agree to my condition.”
The words of thanks died in her throat. “Go ahead. What do you want?”

Damian leaned down, meeting Scarlett’s eyes, and whispered softly, “Spend the night with me.”
Scarlett had seen this routine from him before. She immediately countered, “What’s the real deal? What do you actually want?”
Inside the car, Scarlett turned to look at Damian, her expression deadly serious. Damian looked back at her, light and shadow playing across his features.
He repeated, “Spend the night with me.” But this time, he meant it.
Scarlett could tell he was serious but tried to negotiate. “Damian, you always start with outrageous demands to get what you really want.”
“This time is different,” Damian said, raising his brow. “Just one night. After that, you call all the shots-even if it means my life.”
Scarlett’s face turned crimson. She glared at Damian. “You’re disgusting. You have no shame.”
Damian just grinned, radiating confidence. “Take your time, darling. I’ve got all the patience in the world.”
Scarlett looked at him but said nothing. Nolan was still missing, Vincent wasn’t lifting a finger to help-reaching out to someone else felt like her only option.
Damian had helped her before, and she trusted him to keep his word. But his condition… Scarlett wasn’t sure she could go through with it.
Then she thought-what was the point of clinging to this so-called purity anyway? What had it brought her but heartache?
Damian didn’t want to pressure Scarlett. He pressed the door handle, about to get out, giving her space to truly consider whether she would agree.
But before he completely stepped out, Scarlett spoke from behind him, “Damian, I agree.”
Damian turned, his eyes widening in genuine surprise. “Really?”
Scarlett avoided his gaze, simply nodding. “Yes.”
Damian didn’t wait at all. “I’ll drive,” he said as he got out.

Scarlett moved to the passenger seat, her heartbeat racing, her mind in turmoil. Anxiety crept through her-was she making the right decision?
She had thought about divorcing Vincent, though the papers remained unsigned. If something happened with Damian tonight, it would be cheating. But then again, hadn’t Vincent cheated first?
As her thoughts tangled, Damian’s “We’re here” abruptly pulled her back to reality. There was no room for hesitation now. Things had gone this far; backing out would be cowardly.
Damian grabbed her wrist and led her straight toward the hotel as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Scarlett wasn’t surprised. Men like him always had women coming and going-like changing outfits.
