Vanessa, holding onto Vincent’s neck, replied, “Sabrina took Maria to get cleaned me to play with my toys downstairs for a bit and said she’d give me a bath later.”
Vincent touched his forehead to Vanessa’s gently, then set her down on the sofa.
Remembering the photo Daniel had sent, he suddenly said, “Vanessa, why don’t you call Mom?”
Hearing this, Vanessa pouted. “Daddy, I don’t want to.”
Vincent thought for a moment, then softened his tone. “I have something to ask Mom. Do it as a favor for me?”
Vanessa sighed dramatically but agreed. “Alright then.”
Taking out her children’s smartwatch, Vanessa called Scarlett.
The call connected, but no one answered.
Vanessa tried twice, both times with no response.
Vincent frowned. He took out his own phone and sent a message to Scarlett. “I’m back from my business trip.”
After waiting several minutes, there was still no reply.
He knew Scarlett was currently having dinner with Damian and her family. He told himself not to overthink it, but an inexplicable irritation began to simmer inside him.
He stood up abruptly. To Vanessa, who was looking at him puzzled, he said, “Vanessa, I have to go out for a bit. Be good at home.”
Just then, Sabrina appeared on the stairs. Seeing Vincent about to leave right after returning, she quickly called out, “Vincent, are you going out again?”
Vincent looked back at her. “Daniel needs me for something. I’m heading over.”
After leaving Ravenshade Villa, Vincent called Daniel.
After getting the address, he drove straight there.
Parking outside the restaurant, as he stepped out of the car, he could clearly see the Theron family through the glass window.
Scarlett was sitting in her seat. Damian stood beside her, carefully placing a birthday hat on her

head. Violet pushed a cake in front of her. Nathan placed candles on it and lit them.
Clara sat on Diana’s lap, clapping her hands and singing “Happy Birthday”.

Scarlett closed her eyes facing the cake, her hands clasped together, silently making a wish.
After making her wish, she blew out the candles. Violet handed her the knife to cut the cake.
The family was joyous and harmonious. Damian stood to the side. Though an outsider, he seemed to share in the feeling, smiling gently and happily.
Vincent froze where he stood. Seeing this scene, he finally realized-today was Scarlett’s birthday.
After five years of marriage, he had never heard her mention her birthday, nor had he ever asked.
Just then, Daniel walked up behind him. He patted Vincent’s shoulder, his voice low. “Scarlett and Damian seem quite close.”
Vincent responded flatly, “Hmm.”
Hearing this, Daniel frowned. “You have no thoughts about it?”
Vincent’s voice was cold. “This doesn’t prove anything.”
Daniel’s anxiety flared. “Vincent, do you really need to get cheated on right to your face before you’re satisfied?”
But Vincent was unusually confident. “She wouldn’t do that.”
With that, Vincent stepped directly into the restaurant.
His presence was so out of place that many people turned to look. Vincent ignored the stares and walked straight towards the Therons.
Scarlett was distributing the cake. Since her back was to Vincent, she didn’t know he had arrived.
Diana and Henry were the first to notice Vincent, their faces darkening.
Damian was most adept at reading expressions. Noticing the change in the elders’ faces, he looked behind him.
Seeing Vincent, he slightly furrowed his brow,
Vincent wasn’t familiar with the Therons, but it wasn’t hard to tell who was who.

After approaching, he greeted them in turn. “Henry, Diana, Nathan, Violet…”

Hearing Vincent’s voice, Scarlett turned her head to look at him. She was clearly startled but said nothing.
Vincent also looked at her, a faint smile in his eyes. He asked softly, “It’s your birthday today? Why didn’t you tell me in advance?”
His tone even held a hint of reproach.
The Therons knew Vincent had hurt Scarlett deeply. None of them had a pleasant expression for him.
Listening to Vincent’s question, Scarlett found it ridiculous. But before she could say anything, Damian spoke up first, his tone mocking. “Mr. Stewart can’t even remember his own wife’s birthday. Even if she had told you in advance, the result would probably be the same.”
Vincent glanced at Damian, his expression blank. “This is a family matter. There’s no need for an outsider like Mr. Langley to concern himself.”
Damian let out a clear, loud laugh. “Heh. I’m afraid Mr. Stewart is the one who doesn’t realize he’s the outsider.”
Vincent’s face darkened. The look he shot Damian was distinctly icy. Damian met his head-on, not backing down in the slightest.
Scarlett stood between the two men, caught in the crossfire.
As the standoff continued, Vincent’s phone rang, perfectly timed.
He glanced down, took a few steps to the side, and answered the call.

On the other end, Sabrina’s anxious voice came through. “Vincent, my mom’s surgical incision has reopened! She’s bleeding a lot!”
