Chapter 471 A Seven–Figure Handbag
Her excuse was clearly flimsy, yet Vincent found himself half–believing it. “Really?”
Scarlett answered without hesitation. “Yes.”

Seeing her certainty, he didn’t press further. “Come on. then. Let me take you to look at a few more things.”
Since he insisted, Scarlett didn’t refuse again. “Alright.”
Vincent led her upstairs to browse shoes and handbags.
In the end, Scarlett selected a ridiculously expensive purse. It wasn’t large, but the price tag was a staggering seven figures.
After purchasing the bag and leaving the store, Vincent glanced at her. “Need anything else?”
Seeing it was getting late, Scarlett shook her head. “No, I have dinner plans tonight.”
Hearing this, Vincent frowned. “What dinner?”
Scarlett told him the truth. “Nolan invited me.”
“What’s the occasion?”
“The entrance exam is tomorrow. He called it a ‘good luck‘ dinner.”
Vincent didn’t forbid her from going, but said, “Then I’ll join you.”
Scarlett couldn’t decipher his intention and simply refused. “That’s not necessary.”
“I don’t like the idea of you going alone.”
Hearing that, Scarlett looked up at him, confused.
She almost wanted to ask–was he genuinely concerned for her safety, or was he just keeping tabs on her?
But she didn’t voice the question. She only said, “I’m having dinner with Nolan. You don’t need to worry.”
Vincent felt his own shift in demeanor and paused before replying, “Fine.”
Then he added, “I’ll pick you up when you’re done.”
Scarlett nodded. “Okay.”
With that, they fell silent and headed downstairs.
At the mall entrance, Scarlett didn’t wait long before Nolan’s car pulled up.
Vincent saw it too–a black Audi. Understated but certainly not cheap. By ordinary standards, Nolan was doing very well for himself.
Unfortunately for him, Scarlett moved in circles with men like Vincent and Damian.
Nolan stepped out of the car. Unusually, he was dressed in a suit beneath a black overcoat. He didn’t look like he was just taking someone out for a casual meal of encouragement; it seemed more like a date.

For some reason, seeing Nolan at that moment, Vincent felt a sharp reluctance to let Scarlett go.
But since he’d already agreed, he gritted his teeth and stayed silent.
Nolan strode over, the hem of his coat swaying slightly. His hair was neatly styled today, revealing his forehead. With his sharp features and the well–tailored coat, he looked like he’d stepped out of a magazine.
Watching him approach, Scarlett turned to Vincent. “You can head back. I’m going with Nolan.”
Hearing this, Vincent felt a twinge in his chest. He wanted to object but forced himself to say, “Alright.”
When Nolan drew near, Vincent looked at him, a cool smile in his eyes. “Thank you for treating my wife, Mr. Huntley. Please take good care of her. I’ll be picking her up later myself, so there’s no need for you to trouble with the drive back.”
A few simple, lightly delivered sentences made everything clear.
He called Scarlett his wife. He stated he would collect her. In just a few words, he cut off any ideas Nolan might have.
Nolan understood Vincent’s meaning. He didn’t respond to him or even glance his way.
Scarlett ignored Vincent’s remarks and started down the steps toward Nolan.
But she had only taken a few steps when Vincent’s voice rang out again. “Darling, wait a moment.”
Hearing him call her “darling“, Scarlett instinctively closed her eyes.
Vincent walked over, pulled her into a brief hug, and pressed a light kiss to her forehead. “Have a good time.”
Feeling him release her, Scarlett quickly stepped back.
She shot him an angry glare but said nothing.
Nolan watched it all. He could see Scarlett’s discomfort, so he reached out and gently drew her behind him.
At the same time, he said to Vincent, his voice low, “Dont worry, Mr. Stewart. Scarlett is safe with me. Safer than she would be anywhere else.”
Vincent’s lips curved. “See that she is.”
Nolan said no more. Taking Scarlett’s hand, he led her to the black Audi.
Once inside, Nolan pulled away from the curb smoothly and drove off,
After a few minutes of quiet driving, he glanced over at her. “Are you
cold?”
