Even with a simple, modest one-piece, the moment Nolan saw her in it, his face went red.

The attendant led them to a private pool—Nolan had asked for one specifically, wanted it clean and quiet.

When it was time to step in, Scarlett hesitated, a little unsure. Nolan took her hand and guided her down.

The moment she slipped into the water, the fabric of her swimsuit floated up around her, and Nolan caught a glimpse of her legs—long, straight.

He looked away. Fast.

Once they were both in, Nolan made a point of keeping his distance. Sat a good few feet away, barely able to look at her.

He'd just leaned back when Scarlett spotted two familiar faces across the pool. And they'd spotted her too.

"Ms. Theron!" Eric dropped Felix's hand the second he saw her and jogged over to the edge of the pool.

Scarlett's face softened at the sight of him. She smiled. "Eric, you here for some fun too?"

Eric plopped down by the poolside and nodded. "Yeah, but the ski slope was way too packed. Dad said some idiot gave away a bunch of free tickets, so we couldn't even get in. That's why we came here instead."

Scarlett laughed. "Hot springs are fun too."

Eric's eyes lit up. "Yeah? Can I get in with you guys?"

Scarlett didn't answer right away. She glanced up at Felix. He was the one in charge, after all. She couldn't just say yes without checking.

Felix stood there in a charcoal suit, his down coat draped over one arm. He caught her look and held her gaze for a second.

Then he smiled—warm, easy. "Small world."

Scarlett nodded. "Yeah. You brought Eric out to play?"

Felix paused, just briefly. "Mm-hmm."

He couldn't exactly say he'd been tipped off, could he?

Eric turned to Felix then, face all pitiful. "Dad, can I get in?"

Felix nodded. "Go ahead."

Scarlett glanced at Nolan. He'd paid for the pool, after all. She wanted to make sure he was okay with it.

Nolan wasn't thrilled, honestly. But he didn't want to make things hard for her, so he gave a small nod.

With everyone on board, Eric stripped off his outer layers and slipped into the water.
