Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 658

She finally gave in. "Alright, fine."

Even though their conversation wasn't loud, Vincent could still catch bits of it from where he was sitting.

He overheard Damian inviting Scarlett to visit the cemetery with him.

For something that personal, Damian wanted to bring Scarlett along. That settled it—they were clearly together now.

The thought made Vincent's grip tighten around his knife and fork without him even realizing it.

This was his favorite dish, but right then, he had completely lost his appetite.

When Sabrina glanced up, she noticed something was off about Vincent, though she didn't ask what was wrong.

What puzzled her more at that moment was Damian. He was so distinguished, such a great guy—why was he being so kind to Scarlett?

A woman who'd been married and had a child... What was there to love about her?

Compared to Scarlett, wasn't she better in every way?

By the time the meal ended, Vincent was in a sour mood, and Sabrina was simmering with envy.

Meanwhile, Scarlett and Damian had finished everything on their plates.

With people they'd rather avoid around, neither felt like sticking around.

Once they were done, Damian wheeled Scarlett toward the restaurant exit.

To leave, they still had to pass by Vincent and Sabrina's table.

As they walked by, both Scarlett and Damian kept their eyes forward, acting as if the other two weren't even there.

Vincent watched Scarlett from the corner of his eye. It struck him how much she seemed to have changed.

She used to seem so unremarkable in his eyes, but now he couldn't help noticing new qualities in her—a sense of pride, a cool detachment, an air of quiet confidence.

Sabrina's gaze followed Damian. A man that charismatic and self-assured—yet he was interested in someone like Scarlett, who already had baggage.

It left a bitter taste in her mouth. Why didn't he notice her instead?

Once outside, Damian took Scarlett for a stroll. The night was freezing, snow still drifting down, and even though it wasn't too late, the streets were pretty empty.

The first snowfall had already come and gone, and most people were staying warm indoors.

Damian wasn't ready to take Scarlett back just yet, so he pushed her wheelchair along the sidewalk for what felt like ages.

The cold wind cut against their faces like a blade.

Scarlett tugged her scarf tighter and rested her gloved hands in her lap.
