Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 659

Damian paused, then let out a resigned sigh. "Alright."

Scarlett, sensing he might not have fully taken her words in, pressed the point gently. "I'm serious, you know."

A faint smile touched Damian's lips. "Serious about what?"

She met his gaze steadily. "The roads are icy. You should stay home and rest up. We... We've got all the time in the world."

With that, she pushed the car door open and stepped out.

Her words hung in the air, leaving Damian momentarily frozen.

Had he heard her right?

All the time in the world?

Was she saying they had a future—together?

"Scarlett, wait—could you say that again?"

But by the time he turned, all he caught was the back of her coat as she walked away.

Shaking himself out of his daze, Damian quickly got out and followed her toward the entrance of the Theron estate. At the front gate, he stopped instinctively. "I'll leave you here," he said softly.

Scarlett glanced up at him, her voice quiet but clear. "Okay. Goodnight. Text me when you're back home."

He didn't want to let her go just yet. Gently, he took her hand and brought it to his lips, leaving a light kiss on her knuckles.

Then he leaned in and wrapped her in a careful hug, his words a warm whisper beside her ear. "All right, I'm heading off now."

His voice held a teasing, intimate quality that sent a subtle shiver through her.

"Yeah, okay," Scarlett murmured, turning her cheek slightly as she nodded.

Damian's reluctance was palpable. He lifted a hand and brushed it lightly over her hair.

"I'm going inside," she said. "You should get going too."

Without looking back, she walked through the iron gates and into the grounds.

Damian stood watching until she disappeared into the main house. Only then did he finally turn and make his way back to the car.

Once inside, he glanced at the empty passenger seat. A quiet emptiness settled in his chest.

But then he remembered—her words before she stepped out. "We've got all the time in the world."

A slow, genuine smile spread across his face.

One day, he thought, they'd share a home. A real one, under the same roof, in the same bed, with everything settled and right.
